After months and months of chipping away at this drawing I’ve realized it’s as finished as it will ever be.
The fish seems like he is swimming away, making one last pass to say goodbye before he slips away into the underwater forest to places unseen.
I did not think I’d be as pleased as I am with the end result. But I am.

Once upon a time I was an artist who would have become overwhelmed when my paper suddenly became a spinning ninja and spun out of my hands causing an offensive smear across the paper from the marker I had in hand at the time of the incident.
Once upon a time I probably would’ve cried and quit the drawing or tried to cover the error - most likely succeeding only in making it worse.
But today I chose to ignore it and continue as though it didn’t happen at all.
Tomorrow I may return to tears and overwhelm but today I choose peace 🫶🏻🤷🏻‍♀️
