BE KIND. BE BRAVE. HAVE FUN!

When Dad and I moved you into Tutwiler four years ago, I prayed those words—spoken nearly every morning before middle and high school—would guide you at the Capstone.

And they did. Beautifully.

Your friendships, your courage, your joy — all proof. And still, you went further.

That red cap and summa cm laude honor? Your own design.

Congratulations Drew Bear! You knocked it out of the park. And then some. We truly couldn’t be prouder.

When you said it was THE dress, I wasn’t sure. I was afraid it might outshine your beauty. And then…you smiled.

And, nothing could compare.

Thanks a million to everyone that kept my baby beaming not only at prom, but the whole weekend through. I owe you BIG , and the always handsome Drew Collins.

Meet Bowie and Freyja. This darling duo belongs to The Henry Family. commissioned their portrait as a Christmas surprise for her darling groom.

If I had to describe Lindsay in one word, it would be cool. She is a talented photographer and horsewoman that lives on a picturesque farm with her equally talented hubby, Zach. Together, Lindsey and Zach have built a beautiful life surrounded by all good things: breath-taking nature, adorable pups and magical horses. I developed a crush on these love birds at their wedding years ago and my infatuation has not faded.

You know The Darling Family in 101 Dalmatians? Well, Bowie, Freyja and all their farm friends are loved by the new, improved, hip edition…The Henry’s. , take note. 12x24” acrylic.

Meet Mr. Scotty. commissioned this handsome fella after he crossed the rainbow bridge. She wanted to remember the way he pinned his ears back when he was happy to see his family. It has been said that a dog will always be happier to see you than any person will. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all family members greeted us with such excitement?

And, not to name names ( and ), but it is proven that good food can make teenagers happy to see you. If you too can use fresh, tasty recipes made with TLC and a southern flare, check out Marjorie’s fantastic blog, . She can help you put a smile on even the most hormonal teen’s face.

p.s. Mac and cheese made with is .

Meet Roger. This cutie pie was commissioned by a childhood friend I reconnected with recently through social media. As much as I loathe what can come from cyberspace, I admit there are benefits.

From three to ten, I blissfully enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Exploring the woods behind my house, lip syncing the Grease soundtrack with and Brownie/Girl Scout camp are just a few of my favorite recollections.

’s mom, Betty Blackledge, served as our incomparable troop leader and created some of my precious memories. Lee, thanks a million for choosing me to help your family remember your best boy and thank you for sharing your amazing mom with us all those years ago.

Now that I’m older, I recognize how much time, effort and energy she gave us girls. I am in awe and appreciation. Wish I realized it back then and could have told her myself.

Happy New Year all! May 2022 bring more reasons to be grateful. Tell your peeps you love and appreciate them early and often.

My youngest daughter, Reese, created this precious canvas in 6th grade at Pizitz Middle School. It showcases her love for all things warm, cozy and Christmasy. Your encouragement makes me feel that exact same way.

Thanks a million for your continued support of my unexpected art adventure. May you and yours enjoy a safe, healthy and fun-filled holiday and know you are appreciated.

You know the saying the cobbler’s children have no shoes? Apparently it also applies to artists. Despite requesting office art for his new workspace in April 2019, my sweet husband’s project was wait-listed until his birthday in July 2021. Better late than never I suppose.

This monochromatic abstract features loads of yummy, dramatic texture and includes a tiny, hidden heart carved in there somewhere. It was a challenging, yet, fun departure from my usual.

I am still unsure about the best orientation. He prefers landscape. I prefer portrait. What do you think?
