Resin Photography: TRANQUILITY

Can you believe this is a LAKE? This is Lake Michigan and this park is only about 20 minutes from our house. We love taking walks along its shores in every season! This picture was taken on a cold, windy, spring day at Whihala Beach in Whiting, IN, facing the east side of the lake. At this park, if you look to the west, you can see the skyline of Chicago. Right beside this park is the largest oil refinery in the U.S., which is owned by BP (which also owns one of the wind turbine farms I love!) (Sorry for being like an encyclopedia!)

Resin Photography: RUSTY

There is a place in Elsie, OR with all types of retired logging equipment named Camp 18. They have a restaurant with delicious food, a gift shop, and an outdoor "museum" of old train cars, augers, backhoes, etc. Everywhere I looked, I kept seeing unusual things...like an elephant topiary in the middle of a forest! When I came across this tractor, sitting in the forest, I knew this would be a photograph I would cherish forever. Having been raised on a farm, I just fell in love with this guy and named him Rusty.

Resin Photography: LAKE COEUR D'ALENE

I only knew of Idaho for their potatoes...until this past summer! In Idaho, of all places, we found this spot that just takes my breath away. It's actually a well-known vacation spot in the Pacific Northwest. On our first road trip back from Oregon, I heard several people talking about it and imagined that it was "Lake Court Elaine" (because that's how it sounds when people say it.) Idaho was full of surprises and the people were so friendly. Every state truly has beautiful views and I am so thankful that I got to see this one!

Riding around the Oregon back roads last summer (after our first Covid test), my husband and I rode by this old abandoned house with these cool vehicles parked in front. This scene gave me some kind of feeling... Sadness? Hopelessness? The need for the story behind why all of this was left behind?

Resin Photography: ROAD TO SEDONA

Sedona, AZ is one of the prettiest places I have ever been! Luckily, the sky was beautiful on the day I got to go there and the weather was perfect. With the incredulous red clay mountains, bright green shrubbery, and freshly paved road, this picture perfectly captures Sedona to me. How lucky are the people that get this view daily? I asked a local shop owner if she takes the views for granted and she said everyday, on her way into Sedona (it's too expensive for the workers to live there) she is amazed by the beauty!

The Grand Canyon is FULL of breathtaking views and this was a lucky shot I got as I was walking away from the cliff headed toward the shuttle. I love the way the sun really spotlights the old weathered tree!

Resin Photography: BLOOMING FIELDS

Flowers as far as you can see!! Oregon has endless fields of flowers, hops, hazelnut trees, and this is just one of those fields. We took my mother-in-law and her husband on a road trip during one of our visits and came across this field. This is definitely a moment I will never forget. I actually stood at the edge of the field as I took this picture and my senses were awakened by the floral fragrance!
