It is only natural to me that I would pick them to be the subject of my art. I choose to create art that depicts the reality of animals as I see them, whether it be a foal playing in a field or a watchful dog in the snow. My goal as an artist is to create portraits that show animals in their natural world, with all the beauty, power, and intelligence they possess. My hope is to bring the viewer cl

I was honored to create and deliver this commission of Dash! He is one of my favorite dogs to watch run agility. His speed and accuracy is amazing! And... today is his 5th birthday. And one other special thing about him is that he is from the same line as my Jasmine and he reminds me of her every time I see him. 😉 Dash! is owned and loved by Justine Bradley and is the 5th painting I have done for her.

I'm still trying to get back in the swing of things with my art, but finding that there's not a lot of time these days to get to my easel. I started this painting a few months ago as a demo during an art event, and took the last few days to finally complete it. This is from a photo that I took of my girl Dakota, who freaked out when a leaf stuck to her tail. I loved the expression on her face and knew that some day I would capture it in a painting. This is "There's a Leaf On My Tail!", 14" x 14" pastel on PastelMat, photo reference my own.
