FOUND POETRY is a form of writing in which we compose a poem from the words, phrases, fragments, and passages of an existing text—such as articles, essays, books, and even advertisements. We erase, or blackout, or cut up lines to create a wholly new work from what remains.

December 7th, 2:30 pm - 6 pm Rise Studio, Frederick MD

In a sense, Found Poetry is a practice of writing that allows a “way in” to your voice by finding it through the voices of others.

*You can be a writer or not, this workshop has been designed for all levels. It's not really about "getting" poetry, it is a medium we use to bring you into connection with yourself and with others in the room. Grab a friend or come alone, you are welcome at the table. Want to know what else is cool? You might meet a new friend or two. 😊

Coming up soon on Monday, Dec 2nd from 10 am- Noon Give Rise Studio in Frederick, MD .......Threads!

THREADS is a kitchen table-style conversation for women. Lightly facilitated and topic-based, it encourages a natural flow and invites moments of serendipity.

Join us for our first meet-up where we will have a meaningful conversation around Origin Stories ~ how ELP came to be & how this story connects to you. Bring a picture, memory, or object that reminds you of YOU! Come and feel the joy of being together with other women. It's like coming over for a cup of tea and having a chat. 🍵

Register to save your spot —we can’t wait to weave something beautiful together. Link in Comments.

I remember when summertime meant visits to my grandparent's home. Those weeks were filled with gatherings my grandmother would thoughtfully arrange. We’d sit around coffee tables, dining tables, or foldout chairs outside, sipping iced tea and sharing snacks. I miss that kind of connection.

That face-to-face, time to spare, time to connect vibe.

Now, more than ever is the time to gather!

THREADS is a kitchen table conversation for women. Lightly facilitated and topic-based, it encourages a natural flow and invites moments of serendipity.

The first two are on December 2nd and 10th. We meet twice a month: one session on Monday morning and another on Tuesday evening. The sessions are hosted at Give Rise Studio in Frederick, MD. They are small group focused, so there are limited spots available.

It was pouring rain on Saturday, turning the landscape at Glenstone into a wonderland, setting the stage for deep and meaningful conversations in the “Never Perfect Enough” workshop.

After taking in the work of Barbara Kruger’s piece, Never Perfect Enough, at Glenstone and the gorgeous land that holds and surrounds it, we moved to Three Sisters Studios were we had the time and space to process her major themes and how they have influenced us in personal and societal ways. We loved every second of it!

Gratitude to our budding community who show up in big ways for themselves and for others - and a special thanks to LD for the space, it is truly magical. What a vibe of generosity and spirit you hold xoxoxoELP💥

💥 Hey friends! Just a few seats left! 💥

Join us for a rousing discussion and viewing of the installation "Never Perfect Enough" by Barbara Kruger at Glenstone Museum.

What has influenced your story of you in a world where we often might feel never “enough”? What happens when we see our lives through the lens of art? When we break things down, or add things up?

March 9th, 2024, 12-4 pm at Glenstone Museum and Three Sisters Studio in Potomac.

Be sure to like and head to our website to sign up for our newsletter, where we release our offerings first! A few more workshops have been added, so go check it out!
See you soon,

Who is you?

That is a weird title for a conversation, isn’t it? We often ask ourselves, who am I? We might spend a lifetime working on that “I” — let’s take a step back and together explore what even IS a YOU? Who is you?

Now that is a gigantic question, one that is too large for a 90 minute salon, but stay with us. Using the access point of art, poetry and humor, we will work our way into this existential question that will have you thinking (and laughing) about this loaded question with the added bonus of not going it alone.

February 22 from 7-830 pm at Three Sisters Studio in Potomac, Maryland.

Cant make this one? Check the website for Threads, new topics every month.
