The Shrewsbury Chorale presents "A More Perfect Union": old American songs in more recent arrangements by American Composers. Give yourself a dose of optimism as we approach the 250th anniversary of Independence Day.

The Shrewsbury Chorale will hold Open Rehearsals, 7:30-9:30 pm, on January 6 and 13, 2026 (both Tuesdays) in the St. Andrew's Room at the lower southwest pole of Tower Hill Church, 255 Harding Rd, Red Bank, NJ. We invite all singers, high school or older, to join. Our next concert, March 15, 2026, will be “Rule Brittania”, and will feature the Coronation Anthems (1727) by George Frideric Handel, along with works by Henry Purcell and Benjamin Britten. Fiona Smith Sutherland will direct. We’ll provide scores, and open rehearsals are free.

Fiona explains it all on our youtube channel. We will give equal time to American composers in May.

Singers of all voice parts are welcome. If you like what you see and hear, please schedule an audition. If you want more information or wish to audition, please contact Sam Talmage at 732-508-0963.
