Anthony Meier Fine Arts Official Facebook of Anthony Meier, a contemporary art gallery located in Mill Valley, CA.

Anthony Meier was established in 1984 as a private dealer in the secondary market. Working with both public and private collections, Anthony Meier built a highly regarded international reputation specializing in Post-World War II contemporary masters. In 1996, Anthony Meier opened a public gallery space in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. In 2023, the gallery opened a new locatio

n in Mill Valley, California in a historic building downtown. As a public forum, Anthony Meier mounts five or more exhibitions per year dedicated to emerging, mid-career and established artists. The work shown in the gallery is consistent with the quality and visual aesthetic on which the business was founded. Anthony Meier is active both locally and globally, with membership in the Art Dealers Association of America and the San Francisco Art Dealers Association. Past and present participation in the major art fairs of the world has helped to merge our primary and secondary programs and present the gallery program as a cohesive progression, from post-war masterworks to contemporary artists working today. With our range and quality of work, the gallery inventory maintains a current and well-articulated profile in the art world at large.

Marking the first freestanding floral metal sculptures in Saif Azzuz’s practice, these works expand on his ongoing exploration of industrial materials through molded form. Here, he turns to steel to create depictions of flowers, holding a tension between the material’s rough physical expression and the softness and beauty of what the works represent.

Azzuz repurposes materials with intention and care, drawing on the imagery, craftsmanship, and landscapes of his heritage, and reflecting Indigenous ways of making do with what remains. The sculptures evoke both the debris of colonization and the resilience of Indigenous life.

These works are presented as part of Azzuz’s solo exhibition at the gallery, “Aiy-ye-kwee”, on view now.

We’re pleased to share that works by Donald Moffett are currently included in two presentations at the Brooklyn Museum that comprise “Drawing America: Us at 250”, which traces the many ways artists have shaped, challenged, and reimagined ideas of American life. Moffett’s works bring their characteristic urgency and material intensity into dialogue with artists across generations, underscoring the continued force of drawing as both image and proposition.

As the Headlands’ Annual Art Auction approaches, we’re pleased to support this year’s event with a work by Jasmin Sian.

Bringing together a wide community of artists and supporters, the evening reflects the spirit of experimentation and exchange that defines Headlands’ program. Proceeds directly support its residencies, which provide time, space, and resources for artists to develop new work.

We’ll see you there!

Gerhard Richter’s “Strip” series transforms painting into pattern and rhythm. Derived from a single line of pixels taken from one of his earlier abstractions, the compositions are digitally mirrored and multiplied until gesture gives way to something almost architectural.

Evoking both woven textile and digital code, the works continue Richter’s decades-long exploration of chance, repetition, and the shifting nature of painting itself.

View the works at our TEFAF New York presentation, Booth 312.
