We're almost at the top of the coaster, fear fiends. Before you plunge to your doom, spend some time with our favorite Doll Faced Gremlin - Maki Roll (she/her) ⛓️

is an award winning performance artist, event coordinator, and pop culture entrepreneur. The Washington DC native started her creative journey in 2010  as a cosplayer and nerdlesque performer and soon branched out to guesting, hosting, and curating programming for conventions and nerdy events. Maki combines her geekiness and self-taught artistic skill to build innovative performance and visual art experiences across mediums. She has been featured by NPR, MTV, ESPN’s The Undefeated, Crunchyroll, and The Mary Sue. 

She is the current executive producer and owner of the historic International Nerdlesque Festival and producer of DC Braulesque, a monthly Nerdlesque brewery experience at DC Brau.

Kimono Jones (she/her) is a Baltimore-born hyperfemme horror enthusiast who stumbled tassels-first into the nerdlesque community and hasn’t been the same since. Kimono has performed along the east coast and across the country in exclusively geeky shows bringing kitschy, upbeat transformation sequences of self-expression for over seven years. Kimono is also the lead graphic designer for The International Nerdlesque Festival and semi-eternal co-host for DCBraulesque! 🪦

Nina Osegueda (she/her) is a native DC performer who has been gracing its stages since she was a pre-teen in the Washington Opera. As the lead singer of A Sound of Thunder ⚡️, she has recorded ten full length albums and toured the US and abroad in Europe. She and ASoT performed on live national television at the Barcelona Olympic Stadium, where their version of the Catalan national anthem, Els Segadors hit European top 40 radio. She and the band are currently in the process of releasing a new EP and comic book series, Queen of Hell. 🔥

The Duchess of Dork has performed all across the US and internationally, including: headlining the first NOLA Nerdlesque Festival in 2015, hopping the pond to perform two avenging acts in the 2016 London Burlesque Festival, chasing burgers all the way to compete in the 2017 Geneva Burlesque Festival, and following her arc reactor to the 2017 Como Lake Burlesque Festival. She was a feature performer at 2018 Discordia Days Burlesque Festival and at 2020 & 2023 Vermont Burlesque Festival. In quarantine, she took to the digital stage, notably being featured in The First Annual Quarantine Burlesque Festival and Glasgow Festival of Burlesque 2020. She has been awarded Producer’s Choice at 2018 Discordia Days Burlesque Festival and Most Comedic at 2022 Land of the Sky Burlesque Festival. She is a co-creator of RVA Burlesque Festival. Full of saccharine and silliness, you’ll want to catch a peek at this geek! 🤓

Bebe Bardeaux (she/her) is the Doll of Washington, DC! An award-winning burlesque entertainer, rollergirl, and pinup, Bardeaux transports audiences to a world of vintage glamour✨. Reminiscent of the golden age of shake dancers, Bardeaux was named one of the 2021 Top 50 burlesque performers in the world by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine. In 2018, she took home the 1st place award at the Washington DC Burlypicks and was awarded the Golden Smile Award at the Golden Legends Champion Challenge. She’s been featured in several pinup magazines, including Pin-Up Life, Delicious Dolls, and Black Pinups. Bebe started as a professional roller-skating stage kitten for Chocolate City Burlesque & Cabaret. She is the author of the forthcoming Black burlesque history book “Shake Queens” and the co-founder of Chocolate City Burlesque University, a new and growing school dedicated to teaching the art of the tease🍫🖤.

Bearcat Betty (she/her) is a variety entertainer specializing in burlesque and sideshow. Based in Maryland, her wit and charm permeate the East coast. Over the years, she has graced many stages and sticky floors with her talents and will travel to you for monetization of your adoration. She is an award winning performance artist with a range that spans comedy to classy, dramatic to dangerous, weird to wonderful, and some nonsense in between. She enjoys making costumes, and finally finishing the costumes she was making. She hopes to extract your laughter, tears, exclamations, and maybe some sweat. Among her lifetime achievements include declarations of “I’ve never seen that before” and “I still think about that thing you did.”

What is the Nerdlesque Fest?

We are the original Nerdy Burlesque Festival dedicated to nerd and pop culture! From April 3-5, 2020 performers from around the globe will converge at historic Coney Island USA in New York for shows, classes with the New York School of Burlesque, community building events, and more!

Established in 2014, this festival showcases the best in Nerdlesque from across the planet! As the popularity of nerd-friendly burlesque and cabaret rises daily, this festival aims to encourage and foster the development of Nerdlesque as an art form and a community. Our sexy nerd powers combine every April to turn New York City into the epicenter of glittery naked nerdery!

Our goal is to create a safe place where all the dweebs, dorks, geeks and freaks can get together, without fear or shame, in celebration of our dedication to the art of burlesque. As much as this is an event to entertain and amuse, it is a community-building weekend. Featuring shows, classes, and networking events, the Nerdlesque Festival strives to contribute to strengthening the Burlesque Community while increasing opportunities for nerdy performers as well as their exposure in the world at large!
