Boas are ovoviviparous 🐍
That means they give birth to live babies instead of laying eggs!
The babies develop inside the mom in eggs that hatch internally.
Pythons lay eggs, but most boas have live young.

Python vs Boa — what’s the difference? 🐍
Pythons (like my Reticulated Pythons):

Eggs (they lay eggs)
Mostly from Africa, Asia, Australia
Have 2 lungs (one bigger)

Boas (like Boa Constrictors):

Live babies (give birth to live young)
Mostly from the Americas
Have only 1 functional lung

Both are awesome constrictors!

Pointy tail snakes in California?
They are safe in most cases!
Gopher snakes and many others have pointy tails and are completely harmless. They even mimic rattlesnakes to scare off predators.
Still — if you’re not 100% sure what it is, give it space.
Respect all snakes.
Drop a 🐍 if you feel better about pointy tail snakes now!

Catching a wild rattlesnake 🐍
Here’s how I do it safely with the right tools.
Never try this with bare hands — that’s how most bites happen.
Rattlesnakes are not aggressive, but they will defend themselves if they feel trapped.
Respect them. Use proper tools. Give them space when possible.
Drop a 🐍 if you’re learning safe practices!

2 important words: Poisonous and Venomous 🐸🐍
Poisonous = toxins you touch, eat, or breathe in (like toads or certain caterpillars)
Venomous = toxins injected through a bite or sting (snakes, scorpions, etc.)
Big difference!
Respect both. Never touch or mess with them.
Drop a 🐍 if you knew the difference or a 🐸 if you learned something new!

Poisonous things make you incredibly sick 🤢😵☠️
One wrong touch, lick, or taste and it can hit you fast — burning, vomiting, hallucinations, heart problems, or worse.
Whether it’s a toad, certain caterpillar, or other toxic animal…
Respect from a distance. Never touch or kiss them.
