Walking past a rattlesnake’s face may look scary…

but they are not looking to bite. 🐍
No strike. No chase. Just a snake that wants space.
They’re defensive, not aggressive. If you stay calm and keep moving past without crowding them, most will let you go.
Respect them. Don’t test them.
Drop a 🐍 if this surprised you.

Listen to the rattlesnake…

it stops making noise when it realizes we aren’t a threat. 🐍
The rattle is a warning, not an attack.

Once it sees we’re calm and giving space, it often goes quiet.
They’re not looking for a fight. They just want to be left alone.
Respect them and they’ll respect you.
Drop a 🐍 if this changed how you see them.

Allergic reactions can happen to anybody…

for any reason…

from any venomous animal. ⚠️
Snake bite, scorpion sting, spider bite — it doesn’t matter.

A serious reaction can happen even if you’ve never had one before.
That’s why we respect these animals and keep our distance.

If someone has trouble breathing, swelling, or feels faint after a bite or sting — get medical help immediately.
Stay safe. Respect the animals.

Dan’s 3 ways to get poisoned ☠️
Here’s the simple breakdown:

Touch – toxins absorbed through the skin
Eat – swallowing something poisonous
Breathe – inhaling toxins (less common, but possible)

This applies to poisonous toads, some frogs, certain caterpillars, and other toxic animals.
Respect them and avoid all three.

Rattlesnakes are not bloodthirsty killing machines.
Despite what movies and fear-based stories say, these animals are defensive — not aggressive. They would rather avoid humans completely than waste energy or venom on something they can’t eat.
Their goal is simple: survive and be left alone.
Respect them, watch your step, and give them space. That’s how we coexist.

This chubby desert iguana is so cute 😭🦎
I can’t get over the little round body and tiny face.
Desert iguanas (Dipsosaurus dorsalis) are tough little lizards built for the heat. They mainly eat plants, flowers, and leaves, and they’re excellent at handling extreme desert temperatures.
Proof that reptiles can be adorable too.

I’m not here to scare children… but adults are fair game 😈
I always keep things age-appropriate. The young kids get the gentle introduction and learn respect for the animals.
Teens and adults? You might get a bigger reaction moment 😂
Safety and respect come first — for the animals and the audience.
Comment “FAIR GAME” if you’re an adult who’s ready for it 👇

Quick learning about rattlesnakes 🐍
Rattlesnakes are venomous pit vipers that use heat-sensing pits to detect prey.
Their famous rattle is a warning system — they would rather you leave than waste venom on you.
They are defensive, not aggressive, and play an important role in controlling rodents.
Even baby rattlesnakes are born fully venomous.
Best advice? Watch your step, give them space, and never try to handle one.
