We matched a cabinet stain for a yacht galley. π₯οΈ
The client wanted a specific warm brown β not something off a shelf. They brought us a sample of the color they were after, and we worked to it.
We bring that up because most people assume color matching means picking from whatever's on the display rack. It doesn't. And it isn't limited to paint, either β stain matching works the same way.
Here's what we can work from: a Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams color name, a paint chip, or a physical sample of something you love.
Here's what we can't: a photo. π±
Your phone is quietly adjusting for the lighting in your kitchen. Your screen is shifting the tone again on top of that. The greige on your camera roll may not be the greige on your wall β and if we matched to the image, you'd end up with a kitchen that isn't the one you had in your head. So we ask for something physical, every time. It's not a limitation. It's how you get what you actually wanted.
Everything else stays the same: degrease, inspect under raking light and fill the dents, dings and damage we find, cabinet-specific primer, and a durable water-based coating built for daily kitchen use. Most kitchens run about five days.
The color, though β that part's yours. Bring us something to work from.
