Sun City Center has so many residents in their 70s, 80s & 90s who remember not just the birth of TV, but the glory days of radio. And this community of about 20,000 has its own radio station. Sun Radio 96.3, born in 2014, is run completely by volunteers. One of those instrumental in keeping this station going is Ron Cress, long time community leader here. Sun says it fills the airwaves 24-hours a day with “music, conversation and community spirit.” This is a low power station, only 100 Watts, day and night. Pretty much you need to be here to hear it! The signal travels only about 3.5 miles.
We are blessed Ron came by today to tell us how the station is doing. (813) 781-0180. [email protected]
