We had so much fun celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Weinandt on Saturday!!! The bride was a student at Elkhorn Valley High School when we were still DJing prom and homecoming dances, and the groom was her date for those events. At one homecoming dance, we played "Starships" after the kids promised they wouldn't scream f-bombs. Well, they did, and the principal shut down the dance once she realized what they were shouting. As they were leaving, she said she didn't know if there would even be a prom in the Spring due to their behavior at the Homecoming dance. She did let them have prom, but she told them that she was going to bring her record player and play polkas all night. When we arrived to set up for the prom dance, she told us to play two polkas to begin the night. Oh my gosh, the looks on their faces when the polka started was priceless. Jon reminded them of the homecoming dance by playing "Starships," but mentioned their principal wasn't there. 😆
