Scathing! I like AI. It enables us to take art to a whole new level. I began painting at six years old in my grandmother's studio. Scroll through my photos, there's a decade of work right here on Facebook. I've been extremely prolific throughout my career. Google -- hundreds of, 'Ce Jamieson' paintings are out there. I can paint in every medium and every style. Not bragging, just showing I have a real voice when it comes to the AI argument. As I am honestly a painter and always have been. I'm vetted and legit.
With AI -- it's so great to be able to blend and experiment quickly with styles, perspectives and new ideas. With oils that takes forever! And acrylic has its limits.... AI allows us to see our ideas and designs in seconds. And then, continue to explore going deeper and deeper. Learning more & more & MORE in a never ending quest to improve our work. And take it to a whole new level. True artists always want to know what's in me? Who am I as an Artist? What's my personal style? My ability. My gift. And how far can I take it all.
Many believe we are simply striving to improve not understanding that we are explorers. Forever, searching not simply to climb higher but to discover uncharted territory. Very much aware that the clock is ticking. Our eyes, wrists and aging brains have expiration dates. So we MUST continue to fight to reach our true potential before it all begins to fade. AI is a wonderful solution to this. It is a powerful tool for probing our depths.
And I love using it with heraldry as well. Considered, a craft not an art. Patrons often want additional artwork for sons, daughters and so on. AI saves them so much money. We can take the original coat of arms and click, click, click. Creating as many variations of their arms as needed at no additional charge. And if they chose the AI option verses a painting of their arms - my experience, knowledge and creativity are still required. They cannot do a proper job without a heraldic artist. You do not for example say to AI, 'create a coat of arm' and receive a decent image. It takes an artist's eye for design to pull it all together. As only we know what to put in to create the mantling, helm, beasties, shadowing, fine detail and whatnot to create something worthy of display.
And is AI taking work away from artists? No, no one is stopping us from painting. AI is simply making it possible for artists to take more commissions. We can design quickly through AI. Sell a ton of artwork. And then, return to our beloved paintings. AI is enabling us to spend less time doing the commission work. AI has created a way for artists with a great eye for design to make a ton of cash. AND devote more time to painting. It is helping artists. Those who aren't on the inside of the Art World like I am do not understand this fact.
AI is not only helping artists take art to a whole new level but it is helping everyone create art....... And here's something I truly love about this new technology. If you take a tree I painted and upload it to AI and give it your own perspective I get to see it as you do. Or as you truly wanted to me to paint it. Before AI I was never able to see my work through the eyes of the Patron. And now, I can. I'm grateful for this new technology for so many reasons.... If, you haven't tried AI please do.
