On this day in 1910, A.L.F.A. — Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili — was officially born in Milan. 🇮🇹🔥 What started as a rebirth of a struggling Darracq factory quickly became a symbol of Italian engineering and racing passion. Giuseppe Merosi designed the first car, the 24 HP, and by 1911 Alfa was already competing in the Targa Florio. In 1915, entrepreneur Nicola Romeo took the reins, expanding the company and eventually giving it the name we know today: Alfa Romeo. 114 years later, the badge still stands for style, speed, and pure driving soul.

🏁 A NEW RECORD ON AMERICA’S MOUNTAIN.

JR Hildebrand just stormed Pikes Peak with a blistering 9:30.104, setting a new production‑car record in the 1,250‑hp Chevrolet Performance ZR1X, a purpose‑built monster derived from the C8 Corvette ZR1.

156 turns. 14,115 feet. One absolutely relentless run.

Hildebrand just raised the bar for everyone chasing the summit!

On this day in 1903, Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company, a small Detroit startup that would go on to reshape the world and redefine speed. What began with 12 investors and the first Model A soon evolved into a brand built on innovation, grit, and racing spirit.

From early dirt‑track battles to the legendary GT40’s domination at Le Mans including the iconic 1‑2‑3 finish in 1966, Ford didn’t just build cars, it built champions. The track became its proving ground, and racing became part of its DNA.

121 years later, the blue oval still stands for horsepower, heritage, and the pursuit of going faster.

MG Mondays 🏁 | MG P-Type (PA & PB, 1934–1936)

Small in size, massive in impact. The MG P-Type, produced as the PA (1934–36) and later refined PB (1935–36)—continued MG’s winning formula of lightweight construction, precision handling, and accessible performance that began with Old Number One.

Built on a compact ladder-frame chassis, the P-Type featured a distinctive swept-wing style and narrow, purposeful stance, making it one of the most recognizable pre-war MGs. Power came from a 847cc inline-four engine in the PA, delivering lively performance for its size, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The later PB saw displacement increased to 939cc, improving torque, drivability, and reliability—key advantages in both road use and competition.

Weighing in at under 900 kg (≈1,980 lbs), the P-Type excelled in trials, hill climbs, and club racing, where agility and endurance mattered more than outright power. Its low center of gravity, precise steering, and responsive chassis made it a favorite among privateers and amateur racers alike—embodying MG’s ethos: maximum driving enjoyment with minimal complexity.

The P-Type also marked a critical step in MG’s evolution, bridging early experimental sports cars and the more developed T-Series that would take MG global after WWII.

Nearly a century later, the PA and PB stand as perfect examples of why MG became synonymous with grassroots motorsport and driver-focused engineering.
