Such an honor to be recognized for our vital part in this beautiful project! Congratulations to everyone that played a part in this success story.

Downtown Lumberton is earning statewide recognition!

The North Carolina Department of Commerce recently honored 42 Main Street Champions, including Lumberton honorees Tommy and Gidget Vickers, for their commitment to downtown revitalization and stronger local communities.

The recognition reflects continued momentum across Downtown Lumberton — from projects like the Elm Street Pocket Park to the steady work happening behind the scenes every day.

We also want to recognize Downtown Development Coordinator Sarah Beth Ward, whose leadership and persistence keep these efforts moving forward.

We’re proud to see Lumberton represented among this year’s Main Street champions.

What an incredible evening celebrating creativity at our 12x12 Art Exhibition!

A heartfelt thank you to all of the amazing artists, members, and attendees who helped make this event so special. We were thrilled to showcase over 55 pieces of art from 21 talented artists, featuring a wonderful variety of media, subject matter, styles, and techniques. The one rule? Every piece had to be exactly 12 inches square!

While it may be an unusual size, our artists embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and imagination. The result was one of the most unique and engaging exhibitions we’ve hosted to date, with 13 sold pieces of art.

A very special shout out to our dedicated Board of Directors, who not only supported the exhibition but also joined in the theme by preparing and donating the hors d’oeuvres all square, of course! Yes… even the lemons!

Thank you again to everyone who participated, attended, and supported the arts in Robeson County. We can’t wait to see you at the next exhibition!

The Board of Directors for the Robeson County Arts Council was honored to be invited to the grand opening of the beautiful Inner Peace Center for the Arts. As proud community partners for several years, we are absolutely ecstatic to welcome this state-of-the-art gallery into our growing and thriving arts community.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was filled with celebration, vision, and heartfelt appreciation for the power of the arts to transform lives. Owner Melvin graciously acknowledged our long-standing partnership and surprised us all with a truly special moment. Our dedicated board member and treasurer, Dr. Mary Ann Masters, was honored with a naming rights dedication for the 2nd floor gallery space. She has officially named it: The Gallery of Hope Filled Possibilities. A name that beautifully reflects her spirit, commitment, and belief in the power of creativity to inspire brighter futures.

This moment is a testament to what strong partnerships can accomplish. Together, we are building more than galleries, we are building opportunities, connection, and a vibrant arts district that continues to glow with possibility.

Robeson County is thriving, and the arts are at the heart of it. Here’s to collaboration, community, and a future filled with hope and creativity.

We’re still feeling the impact of this powerful celebration of Native American artistry from this past November!

During Native American Heritage Month RCAC proudly brought together 30 incredibly talented Native artists, each showcasing a beautiful variety of artistic forms from visual arts to handcrafted works that reflect generations of culture, creativity, and storytelling. We are so grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and celebrated with us. Your presence made this exhibition truly special and reminded us how strong and vibrant our artistic community is.

A heartfelt thank you to the Native-owned businesses who sponsored this event. Your investment in the arts helps preserve culture, uplift artists, and create meaningful opportunities for our community.

And a huge congratulations to our board members for executing such a wonderful and impactful exhibition. Your leadership and vision made this event one to remember!

Take a look back at these moments and help us celebrate the incredible Native artists who continue to inspire us all.
