Meet Prakash, a school bus driver from New Delhi, India. Our video library includes footage of him going through a full 24 hours in his life, along with a life story interview, where he speaks about family, wealth, his job, and happiness. Prakash is one of twenty individuals featured in our collection, which exposes viewers to the ways that individuals live across the world, and connects people through the small similarities we all share.

Student visiting the Global Lives exhibit hosted at the Hearst Museum of Anthropology in Berkeley in 2017.

“I watched Ivan from Colombia’s video. When you see documentaries of interesting people, everything they say has some sort of message to the audience and it’s really compressed. But the conversations they were having in the video were something really small. It doesn’t have a particular message. It’s just a normal conversation that we always have. That made me feel closer to him, even though we’re complete strangers thousands of miles away.”
