Nothing exposes a finish faster than the final coat.

This was the last step on a new build where we sealed the wood using a Minwax Helmsman system for durability and clarity.

Before spraying the final coat, we went through a full prep pass.

Light sand with 320 grit.
Extra fine sponge for all grooves and profiles.
Blow everything clean with a high CFM blower.
Final wipe using microfiber and tack cloth.

Only after the surface was perfectly clean did we spray the final coat.

That prep work is what gives the finish depth, smoothness, and long term protection.

Good finishes aren’t rushed.
They’re built step by step.

Build it like you plan to keep it.

This week was a mix of everything between Texas to Colorado and back again ✈️

Residential home where we sealed stained T&G with oil-based primer and finished with two coats of Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel. Smooth finish. Proper adhesion. No shortcuts.

That system matters. Oil base locks it in. Urethane lays down clean and cures hard. That’s how trim should be done.

On a new build, we used SherMax for all premium caulking selections. Movement happens. Gaps happen. Cheap caulk fails. We don’t use cheap caulk.

Details like that separate a paint job from a professional coating system.

And then there’s the concrete inscription at the gym.

Boren to Paint in the slab.

That’s legacy mindset.

You build something, don’t sell it. Expand it.

We crossed seven figures last year. Over 160K in materials from Sherwin alone. That’s not luck. That’s systems, leadership, and a crew that executes.
