This is an overdue post from a project in Pismo Beach for 2 awesome people who trusted me with their vision. Solid Magnolia wood countertop for a wet bar that has ocean views! Check out the velvet wallpaper and amazing basin sink that completes the cool vibe of this project. Working remotely is never easy, but I would do it again in a heartbeat for these two. A hard to find wood complete with an embedded bullet makes this countertop one of a kind!

Over a year ago my parents found an old wooden bedframe behind the shed at the cabin and brought it to me. Apparently this bed belonged to my great grandfather and was well over 80 years old. I unbolted it all, square nuts, and everything, and it sat for about a year until I finally had an idea. I cut out all the rotten parts and used what was left to make a rustic style, Mortise and tenon adaptation of an Adirondack chair for my dad for Fathers Day from his grandfathers bedframe. I’m sure it will end up back at the cabin where it rightfully belongs. Happy Father’s Day Pop.

Made a custom piece to celebrate a friends milestone at work. 30 years of service in the books. Congratulation Sir, you are almost done. Hopefully soon he will have no need for a clock in retirement. Solid walnut milled flat, then shaped to accept a clock motor. Inlaid maple rank chevrons and solid brass clock markers give great contrast to a simple, classic design. Would you want this on your wall???

Just one big ass chunk of English Walnut that I decided to hollow out to make the matching piece to my magnetic knife block. It was not easy and I don’t think I’ll be doing it again but… enjoy.

I most likely will never do a run of this wood again. This assortment includes pieces 24” long and 2” thick to pieces 3/8” thick and varied shapes. These will start at $145 and go up to $495. My most recent piece is something different for me. This was not a commission piece nor was it a paying job of any kind. This cross is being sent as a thank you to a stranger who helped me when no one else would. He volunteered his help when there was zero benefit to him to do so. Never in my entire life has a complete stranger shown me such kindness. Just saying thank you will never be enough so I hope the cross speaks to him for me. 3 different kinds of wood; alder, black walnut, and pepper tree with a solid copper inlay and finished with Wood Honey to bring out the natural contrasting colors in the wood. Amen
