Mad Love
Ladies and gentlemen, family, friends, and fans of Madcaps Comedy Club,
We gathered last night not to mourn the loss of a cherished institution, but to celebrate a legacy that has brought so much laughter, joy, and connection to New Smyrna Beach and beyond.
Madcaps Comedy Club, was more than just a venue—it was a sanctuary for laughter, a home for comedians, and a place where strangers became friends, united by the power of humor.
Adam and Jamie, the heart and soul behind Madcaps, were the comedy "mom and dad" of this vibrant community. They didn’t just run a club—they nurtured talent, supported performers, and fostered an environment where comedy and comics could flourish. It wasn’t just about the punchlines, though those were world-class. It was about the care they put into every show, every set, and every guest who walked through the door.
For years, Madcaps was a beacon for up-and-coming comics, providing them with a stage to find their voice. But it was also a place for established legends to reconnect with their roots, to remind themselves of the magic that brought them into this world in the first place: the joy of making people laugh.
Adam and Jamie never just booked shows—they built a family. Whether you were a performer or an audience member, you were always treated like you belonged. They made sure everyone knew that comedy was a shared experience that transcended all boundaries.
But it wasn’t just the comedy that made Madcaps so special—it was the love, the energy, and the passion that Adam and Jamie put into every aspect of their club. Their commitment to creating a space where people could come together, laugh together, and leave feeling lighter, brighter, and more connected to the world around them is a gift that will live on in all of us.
Madcaps was more than a club; it was a community. Adam and Jamie ensured that anyone who walked through those doors felt welcome, valued, and a little bit happier. They believed that laughter was medicine, and through Madcaps, they gave that gift to thousands of people over the years. The joy they spread was not just in their comedy shows, but in the very way they interacted with the world—warmly, authentically, and generously.
Though Madcaps may no longer stand as a physical space, the impact it created will resonate for generations. The countless comedians who graced that stage, the fans who shared those unforgettable nights of laughter, and the community that was built there—all of us carry a piece of Madcaps with us.
The love and spirit of the club will continue to inspire and uplift all of us as we move forward.
Comics, thank you for sharing your vision, your hearts, and your unwavering support for us and the comedy community. You didn’t just help build a club—you built a family. And though Madcaps may be gone, its spirit will live on forever in every laugh, every joke, and every memory we carry forward.
Rest in peace, Madcaps Comedy Club.
Thank you, Jamie Lowery, for everything. You have given me more than I could ever repay.
