PSU Performing Arts Council

PSU Performing Arts Council Gathering the Arts to Share the Arts The Penn State Student Performing Arts Council (PAC), started as a group of students who wanted to break down the walls between performing arts organizations and promote cooperation and collaboration to further the mission of each individual organization and of performing arts in general at Penn State.

PAC was officially established as a student organization on December 16th, 2014 and has made incredible progress in its first year. A relationship was quickly established between PAC and Penn State’s Student Affairs Office which has led to many diverse partnerships and opportunities for the performing arts organizations at University Park. One of the Performing Art Council’s greatest achievements

The Performing Arts Council stands as an advocate and supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and vehemently opposes the recent announcement of an anti-LGBTQ+ event being held at Penn State. Due to the event occurring at the same time as the Performing Arts Council’s a ca****la sampler, we have made the decision to postpone our sampler in order to support the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity’s (@pennstatelgbtq) event, Love is Louder, being held on November 3 from 6-10 pm in Heritage Hall. The event will feature music, food, and activities fostering a safe environment for students in the LGBTQ+ community. We stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ members of the arts community and encourage all Penn State community members to come to the Love is Louder event to shift conversations away from this harmful rhetoric. Please refer to the resources in our story if you are in need of additional support.
