I’m an Illustrator from Union, Missouri who specializes in adult coloring books, childrens story books, textile design, and cover art. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2013. Accompanying my Illustration degree, I have a strong background in Graphic Arts and Visual Design. I spent three years studying graphic design, prior to my acceptance to

the Kansas City Art Institute's Illustration program. I generally work in a traditional manner, and I ultimately consider myself a 'marker artist.' My tools are artist grade markers, fine line pens, and typically Photoshop for final editing. My work is extensively detailed and vibrant, and the end result is a playful tone that balances bold color and dark smooth lines. My work is well known and can be found in locations all around the world. My art is published by numerous outlets and can be found on jigsaw puzzles, sticker books, notecard sets, greeting cards, coloring books, and childrens books. My work can also be located at the All Things Oz Museum in New York, who currently has the original 'Dorothy' illustration that I completed on permanent display in their Museum. Another piece titled 'Alice' is also on permanent display at the East Central College student library in Union, Missouri.

I’ve been having so much fun with my State and National Park drawings!

Each piece starts traditionally with ink and fine line pen. From there, I bring the artwork into Procreate to layer, edit, refine, and pull everything together into one giant snapshot of each state.

I’m currently in the process of getting a large format printer so I can start offering prints. While it’s easy to print 11 x 17, there’s just so many details in these that unfortunately that particular size just doesn’t do it justice. Basically the image resolution suffers. I’m hoping to get prints that range about 16 x 20 to make all those little details shine!

You really have to zoom in on some of these pieces to appreciate all of the little details. There’s so much packed into each illustration that some things can be easy to miss at first glance. I included a couple of shots of sections that were already cropped so you could get a better look at some of the details. But you can also zoom in on the other images to explore.

Stay tuned, prints are coming!

Right now, I’m working on Minnesota, Kentucky, Massachusetts, and Wyoming
I’ve got A LOT of states planned, so this series is just getting started.

I created a series of tarot inspired illustrations over the summer and have been meaning to start sharing them, but my state series has taken over my life 😂 My day job also keeps me pretty busy. So I forget sometimes!

Here’s the first card of many: The Hermit. 🌙

I’ve always loved the atmosphere and symbolism of tarot cards. To be honest I wasn’t sure where to start. I just knew I wanted to do something familiar yet different from some of the work I typically do. These are more soft toned and contain lots of intricate ink work, nature, folklore, and a little bit of darkness. Each card is filled with tiny details and imagery meant to give it its own personality and story.

My eventual goal is to complete a full tarot deck, but for now, this project is definitely living on the back burner while I work through my state series. 😂

This piece was created as a mixed media illustration, starting with traditional ink and then bringing it into Procreate for digital layering, editing, and finishing touches.

More cards coming soon!

New Work! It’s the Smoky Mountains!

For this piece, I wanted to bring together the beauty and character of the Smoky Mountains in one giant illustration. From winding mountain roads and historic cabins to the animals that make it an area we all love!

I love filling these illustrations with little details that you might recognize from your own adventures! Almost like creating a visual souvenir of the places we love. ❤️ While it’s impossible to include everything, I tried to include places that make it special to me and my family personally, and are in no specific order.

This piece was created with a mixed media process involving ink and Procreate for layering, brushing, editing, and finishing touches. Overall size is roughly 30 inches in diameter! Because of the size, I tried to include close up images so you could see the details without having to zoom in too far. The image resolution on these drawings is pretty brutal when uploaded, so I do what I can.

Prints will be available soon! We are working in setting up an outlet for this and others!

I have some other pieces in progress that I am working on, but they may take a little bit longer for me to get out. Lots of stuff going on right now!

New piece finished today! It’s an entire North Carolina road trip packed into one illustration!

I wanted to capture a little bit of everything that makes this state so special to me. From the mountains and winding roads to the wildlife, forests, and rivers. There’s something hiding in almost every corner of this piece. Zoom in for details!

This started traditionally with ink and fine line pens, then I brought it into Procreate to layer, clean up, and pull everything together into one large piece. I usually call these Mixed
Media pieces.

I’m still figuring out exactly what I want to do with these pieces. Prints are definitely happening, but I’d love to turn them into something else, too. Any ideas?

I can’t wait to start the next one! I’m thinking about going a little more regional next time… maybe a Smoky Mountain design?

South Carolina is finished!

This piece took roughly 5 days of back to back work to complete and measures just over 2 feet in diameter!

This one holds an extra special place in my heart because it’s dedicated to my husband who is a South Carolina native.

Created using a mixed media approach, combining traditional fine liner pen work with digital illustration in Procreate.

I’m so excited to finally share this one! 🖤 North Carolina, Massachusetts and Minnesota are up on the list next!

Tennessee is done! You really have to zoom in to see some of these details. This piece is roughly 2.5 ft in diameter and took 5 days to complete in total.

I used a Mixed Media process on this drawing which includes Micron Ink and Procreate.

This is probably one of the largest pieces I've ever done. It's literally so massive! I plan to do a series of illustrations based off of certain U.S. States. I started with Missouri since it's my home state, but I'm thinking Tennessee will be my next! Zoom in for details!

I have included a link to a higher resolution image, since it is hard to fully see details! : )
