This is the second guitar I made for the OCWA Ziricote Challenge. This is the first acoustic guitar with a “standard” guitar body that I have made. Because the board I had was 6 inches wide and 30 inches long, the largest guitar body I could make was 11 inches wide and 14 inches long. I re-sawed and book-matched the board to make the guitar body

I’m a member of the Orange County Woodworking Association (OCWA) and they had a build challenge that I took part in. The challenge was to see what you could build with approximately 2.75 board feet of Ziricote, a hardwood from Central America. I was able to build an Electric License Plate Guitar and a small Acoustic Guitar.
