And that’s a wrap on BB’s first full season! ✅ Tuscaloosa, from the bottom of our hearts: THANK YOU 💛🌻💛 you are all simply amazing. We can’t wait to keep bringing the joy of early music to you for many more weekends to come.

Where can you hear us next? Keep an eye out for exciting things coming the first weekend of October... more details soon 👀✍🏼😃

TODAY! See you all there!!

Bama Baroque is proud to announce our next concert series: “The Musical Coal-Man” 😊🎶✨

In late 17th- and early 18th-century London, a coal merchant named Thomas Britton invited listeners to climb a rickety, narrow staircase to the attic above his shop for what became the first truly public concert series. Patrons of every background gathered shoulder to shoulder in the loft to hear some of the finest music and musicians in the city.

Bama Baroque recreates one of those remarkable evenings in sound and spirit with music by Purcell, Handel (who is said to have performed at one of Britton’s concerts), le Roux, Matteis, and more, all on period instruments - with short demonstrations, historical tidbits, and conversation along the way.

Join us at one (or both,) of the below performances, both in Tuscaloosa:
🥖 May 16 @ 4: Ben’s Bread (RSVP required due to occupancy; link in bio)
⛪ May 17 @ 3: Christ Episcopal Church

Free parking available at both locations. Admission is free, with donations to Bama Baroque gratefully accepted.

Come experience this rare, whimsical, and delightful treat, right here in the heart of Alabama! We are so excited to share more of this gorgeous music with our community 🖤

And that’s a wrap on Bachtoberfest!!! THANK YOU to director Quint Harris and the Cahaba Chamber Chorale for hosting us Friday and Sunday, and to Ben at Ben’s Bread once again for opening his doors to us for a magical concert on Thursday. Yesterday’s all-Bach motet concert was beautifully done and the culmination of a truly monumental week in the history of early music and historical performance in Alabama.

Alabama, we are so grateful to you for SHOWING UP! You heard the radio spots while out shopping and showed up. You saw our flyers in coffee shops and showed up. Friends told you about us and you showed up. You came as strangers, but left as our new friends. We can’t describe how much this means to us.

Cheers on a job well done for Bachtoberfest 🍻onward we march…. Bama Baroque is planning more exciting things ahead, stay tuned🤩

THANK YOU TUSCALOOSA for showing up and packing inside Ben’s Bread for an intimate, fun-filled Coffee & Grounds concert!...

THANK YOU TUSCALOOSA for showing up and packing inside Ben’s Bread for an intimate, fun-filled Coffee & Grounds concert!!! We had quite a few historical performance first-timers, including a couple folks who heard about us on the radio just yesterday, and everyone had a great time 🌟

We also thank Ben at from the bottom of our hearts (and bellies😋) for opening up his wonderful space to us and serving some delicious autumnal soup and bread to us and our patrons for the evening. Please go and support Ben’s Bread! They’re serving up the most wonderful goodies and best service around 🍞☕️💕

We are all smiles this morning-and if you missed us, don’t worry, we’re taking it all up to Cahaba Brewing in Birmingham TONIGHT at 6:30 pm, joined by the Cahaba Chamber Chorale! 😍hope to greet you there!
