The Way We Talk | 看我今天怎麼說 is a Hong Kong Film based on 3 young adults navigating one thing in common–their deafness. With cleverly crafted sound design, and much of the dialogue in Hong Kong Sign Language, director Adam Wong cleverly immerses the viewer in the world of its characters.

Join us First Friday, February 6 from 6-9pm, at Tulsa Artist Fellowship Archer Annex Lobby for "Mỹ People", a NAM common project.

Traveling through Oklahoma and Missori during 2025, Viet Nguyen and Nic Annette Miller document community events that sustain Vietnamese culture, history, faith, and belonging. Together, the artists offer an intimate portrait of Mid-America as a vital site of diasporic life, where identity is continuously shaped through collective presence and shared tradition. The work honors the resilience of Vietnamese communities in the heartland, revealing how cultural memory is practiced, adapted, and renewed.

In English, “My” means being associated with or belonging to. In Vietnamese “Mỹ” represents America. Mỹ People (Vietnamese English for ‘American’) traces everyday acts of remembrance—festivals, rituals, gatherings, and quiet moments of care—that connects generations across distance and time.

Travel back to the 1980’s with us, but make it Việt. We’re thrilled to host the Oklahoma premiere of New Wave, a documentary by Elizabeth Ai, which dives into the cultural phenomenon of ‘new wave’ music in Vietnamese diaspora, mixing classic songs and synths with lyrics in tiếng Việt and more. The film unravels the complexities during the height of Vietnamese people fleeing their country and conforming to new identities as refugees. Thus, ‘New Wave’ music was born.

This one is for our parents, uncles, aunties, big brothers and sisters–bó mẹ, chú, cô, anh, chị–the first generation of Vietnamese Americans.

Kệ Sách — meaning “bookshelf” — features dozens of book titles highlighting Vietnamese culture inside the Rooms Annex south of downtown.

‘Vietnam—50 Years of Forgetting’ a documentary by Mai Huyền Chi was one to watch in community and “Rooms” Annex provided the perfect intimate setting. The film is available online via Al Jazeera and is certainly a resource for those not shying away from global, yet local, history.
