If you've been to a Compass production, you have seen just a glimpse of the talent that is Micah Tait. Our graphic designer and backdrop artist since Compass became active again, we can't believe how lucky we are to now have Micah on our board as a board member at large!

MICAH TAIT is thrilled to be a part of the Compass Board. With a BFA in Creative Writing, years of experience working a summer theatre camp centering on story telling with kids, and a Masters in Education, literacy and the arts are one of her foremost passions. As a self-taught artist and graphic designer and middle school English teacher, she is vehemently anti-AI in all aspects of her life and perhaps that makes her a Luddite, but she prefers to think of it as preserving art and literacy as what it is: a distinctly human enterprise. She has created the painted backdrops as well as posters for Last Five Years and Radium Girls at Compass as well as the current and last season at Tumwater Middle School.

As Compass pushes towards having seasons, we want to take this moment to thank Nicole Burgess and Evan Tait for the time they gave to us before departing the board (Sept 2026 and Sept 2025, respectively) while also introducing you to our newer board members!

Meet our new Vice President, JAMES VAN EATON!

James Van Eaton is a former bookstore owner with a BA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Iowa. The second of his four novels, Chasing Moonshine, was twice adapted for the stage, and his full-length plays Help Me and An Honest Apology premiered in Sacramento, CA. His most recent works are the short play collections “Looking for Light” and “Out of Love,” which premiered in Beaverton and Hillsboro. He is currently at work on a new collection of short plays called Sinner, Suitors, Stars, and Angels.

Meet MICAH TAIT!

Micah is the creator of all of our marketing graphics and artwork for the backdrops of our two productions. Here at Compass, we're taking this moment to publicly announce that we will not utilize AI in any capacity. Not only to protect the world's resources, but to honor the artists both on stage and off stage (like the incredible Micah).

Thank you, Micah for sharing your incredible talents with us. And thank you audiences for the appreciation you've shown to our incredible creators. We promise to not betray that trust by valuing convenience over people.

Part of the reason this show is so good is the chemistry between our actors -- giggle fits galore at pick-up rehearsal last night!

But now that that's out of our system, we're back this weekend with our FINAL THREE SHOWS! Only 15 seats left for tonight (Friday), 6 for Saturday, and Sunday is SOLD OUT!

Thank you to everyone for your support. We are so lucky that people are willing to take their chance on a new company. We'll continue to do our best to represent the community staying true to our mission.
