T.H.Z., as we like to call it, is an interactive card game for ages 10 to adult. Set in the Arizona Territory, in a ghost town called Canyon Diablo, this fast-paced strategy game cleverly combines the thrills of zombie survival with the luck and skill of, world-famous, Texas Hold ‘em Poker. Players tempt fate by staking their lives against zombie-laden-poker-hands in hopes of obtaining much-needed
weapons, money, and an impressive array of traps and defenses. The insatiable horde gets hungrier as the game progresses, so keep your poker face straight and your gun loaded or you just might run out of brains to bet with. Built around a fallen meteor, the town of Canyon Diablo exists outside of time and space. It is at present a collage of eras gone by. A wormhole, its own Bermuda Triangle, the meteor’s power was first discovered by Coronado’s expedition while in search of El Dorado. Native legend spoke of the hole in the ground that makes up Diablo’s town square, a glowing stone dropped to the earth by the Great Spirit. The stone was said to bring never-ending-life to those that gaze upon it. (WARNING, side effects include: dragging of feet, non comprehendible moaning, and a hunger for cranial goodies.) It didn’t take Coronado’s expedition long to discover that some things are best left undiscovered. Canyon Diablo is known far and wide for its wickedness. Its first lawman lasted less than eight hours. He was shot mid day and promptly buried in the street where he fell, boots and all! The townsfolk have a name for the strip of dirt where the law fell, Hell Street. Two rival factions fight for control of Diablo, hotel owner, B. Mary and her kitty cat girls and Herman Wolf, the German. Wolf owns the infamous Hell Street Saloon. Although most days, find B. Mary and Herman Wolf locked in bitter discord there is one thing they see eye-to-eye on . . . that space rock and the undead minions it produces are a menace. They call them for what they are, zombies. And everyone knows zombies are bad for business! Every year, Mr. Wolf sends out, one-of-a-kind, invitations to the best poker players in the world, an opportunity to play in a truly unique tournament. The Underworld Series of Poker, as it has been dubbed by the locals, is the tournament of tournaments, a tournament of legend, one which brings all other tournaments together and in the darkness binds them. The way Herman Wolf sees it, fame and fortune brings a good competitor but, when a player learns they will have to survive the night . . . Well . . . that separates good from legendary. Riding on the back of rumors and speculation, the Underworld Series of Poker is the oldest known gathering of gamblers. Such greats as Wild Bill Hickok, Doc Holiday, and Bat Masterson have been rumored to sit amongst the hallowed tables of Hell Street. And now it’s your turn to sit in and win it all, or die trying. TEXAS HOLD’EM W/ ZOMBIES is waiting to make your acquaintance. Dare you test your skills?
