Okay… I’ve been keeping a little secret. ❤️👑

After a lot of thought, a lot of fear, a LOT of excitement, and probably a few moments of asking myself, … are you really doing this?” 😂

I am officially running for Miss Gay Tucson America.

I’ve gone back and forth on what I wanted to say in this post because, for me, this means so much more than entering a pageant.

Drag has given me some of the most incredible experiences of my life. It has allowed me to make people laugh, bring different communities together, support causes I care about, it has opened door and opportunities that I will cherish forever 😂, and create memories with people I probably never would have met otherwise.

And somewhere along the way, Janae became so much bigger than I ever imagined she would be.

For me, this isn’t about putting another title next to my name. It’s about seeing how far I can push myself, how much I can grow, and what I can do with a bigger platform for the community that has given me so much.

So I’m ready.

I’m ready to challenge myself. I’m ready to learn. I’m ready to work my ass off. And I’m ready to step onto that stage representing everything that has made me who I am, my culture, my community, my heart, and yes… the LATIN DIVA that I am. 😂❤️🇲🇽

I don’t know exactly where this journey is going to take me, but I do know one thing: I’m going to give it everything I have.

And to everyone who has supported me, booked me, tipped me, shared a post, screamed my name from the audience, laughed with me, believed in one of my crazy ideas, or simply showed Janae love over the years…

You’re part of this too. ❤️

And trust me, this announcement is only the beginning. 👀

I have some VERY fun events coming soon to help raise funds for my journey to Miss Gay Tucson America. And in true Divas and Janae fashion, we’re not just asking for donations, we’re going to make some damn memories while we do it. 😂👑

Our hearts are with the Venture-N family.

We are devastated to hear about the violence that occurred last night at Venture-N, a space that has been part of Tucson’s LGBTQ+ community for so many years.

To the lives lost, their families, partners, friends, the Venture-N staff, and everyone who witnessed or was affected by what happene we are holding you close today.

Our LGBTQ+ spaces are more than bars, clubs, and venues. They are places where we find family. Where we celebrate who we are. Where generations of our community have found belonging, freedom, friendship, and safety.

Today, our community is hurting.

Divas Illusion Show stands with Venture-N and everyone impacted by this tragedy. As more information becomes available and our community learns how we can best support the victims, their loved ones, and the Venture-N family, we will do everything we can to help amplify those efforts.

Please lead with compassion today. Hold your people a little closer. Check on your friends. Take care of one another.

✨ TODAY WE CELEBRATE 5 YEARS OF DIVAS ILLUSION SHOW ✨

What a fu***ng ride. ❤️

Five years ago, Divas was just a dream. Today, it represents hundreds of performances, unforgettable memories, incredible artists, sold-out shows, laughter, tears, growth, and a community that has continued to believe in us.

We’ve accomplished things I once only dreamed about, and through every high and every low, one thing has remained the same: my love for what we’ve created.

We’ve gained people, we’ve lost people, we’ve grown, we’ve changed, and we’ve learned that not everyone is meant to stay for every chapter. But to the ones who have been here since DAY ONE—and to everyone who found us somewhere along the way—thank you.

Thank you for every ticket. Every share. Every tip. Every hug. Every standing ovation. Every “when’s the next show?” And every time you chose to believe in this crazy little dream with me.

Divas has always been about more than putting on a show. It’s about creating a space where artists can shine, people can be unapologetically themselves, and for a few hours, we can all come together and experience a little joy.

To every performer, venue, sponsor, friend, family member, and audience member who has been part of these five years:

This milestone belongs to you, too.

Five years down, countless memories made, and somehow… I still feel like we’re only getting started.
