*I was supposed to post this last week and didn't get to it. So just pretend like you saw this last Thursday. 🤣*
That's a wrap on our Light & Clay Music classes for this year. I can barely wrap my head around the fact that this was year 3. When my wife, Beth, and I decided to move our music school to Troy, we didn’t know what to expect. We weren’t sure where we would be able to host classes, let alone how we would get the word out about them. When we found our way to the North Elm Collective and connected with its incredible director, Shelly Minnich Calvert, everything just clicked into place. We didn’t just find a space to have classes, we found a community of people who care about the well being of this area’s families and providing services that contribute to their health, purpose, and vitality. We found a space, but would people show up?
Yes, you would. Against the odds, we have more students this year than any before. My time with each and every student is something that I value, and these kids never cease to amaze me with their passion and hard work. Learning an instrument is no easy task, but our students have done an incredible job and I know they have some exciting things ahead of them. To the families of our 2025-2026 class of students,, thank you for entrusting me with this aspect of their growth. I hope that together we can create memories and skills that they take with them for the rest of their lives. Whether it be in musical endeavors or elsewhere, they are capable of great things. Let’s cheer them on!
We want to wish everyone an amazing summer, and we can't wait to see you in the fall.
