📸👀 THE SUMMA SIZZLA… THROUGH THE LENS OF A NJ LEGEND 👀📸

If you’ve been coming to the Punk Rock Flea Market for any amount of time, chances are you’ve seen the almighty Jeff Crespi wandering through the madness with a camera in his hand, quietly documenting all of you beautiful weirdos in your natural habitat.

Jeff has been photographing our shows since 2014, capturing everything from vendors and artists to punks, goths, collectors, families, random characters, questionable fashion choices and approximately 47 million things for sale that nobody knew they needed until they walked through our doors.

For more than a decade, he’s documented the weird little universe we’ve built... the people, the art, the booths, the piles of strange s**t, the old friends, the new friends, the “what the hell is THAT?” moments and the occasional purchase that probably required some explaining when you got home.

And somehow, Jeff always manages to make all of it look as cool as the other side of the pillow.

This guy is a New Jersey photography legend, but around here, he’s family. He’s been shooting our shows for 12 years, which means at this point he’s legally required to keep showing up. We’re basically commonlaw spouses now.

We love the fella like a fat kid loves Wegovy, we love his work and we’re incredibly lucky to have had him documenting this ridiculous thing we’ve been doing for all these years.

So here’s a pile of the Summa Sizzla 2026 Punk Rock Flea Market as seen through Jeff’s eyes...

🖤👏 THE HeART OF THE PUNK ROCK FLEA MARKET 👏🖤

There are a lot of reasons people come to the Punk Rock Flea Market... the weird stuff, the food trucks, the tattoo and piercing artists, the music, the people watching…

BUT THE HEART OF THIS THING OF OURS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE VENDORS.

Hundreds of artists, makers, collectors, oddballs, small businesses, and creative humans who spend countless hours making and gathering incredible things... then somehow find the energy to haul it all into a convention hall before the sun comes up with a smile on their face and a per in their step (post-coffee, of course).

These are just a handful of the faces that make this event what it is.

If you’ve ever found yourself talking to an artist or small business owner for 20 minutes, discovering your new favorite band at a record booth, buying something you absolutely didn’t need (but definitely needed), or leaving inspired by someone’s creativity or passion … this is why.

To every vendor who has been part of this weird little family over the last 15 years... thank you for trusting us with your work, your time, and your passion.

I hadn’t had much time to process the loss of Lou Koller, as I was busy preparing for our annual summer show this past weekend. When I heard the news, I just dropped into my chair and sat there, not knowing what to feel.

Lou and I weren’t friends. I was simply a lifelong fan, and he was a genuinely good dude who supported our shows for years. But his music was one of the biggest influences on my life for nearly four decades.

SICK OF IT ALL were my introduction to NYHC at City Gardens… my very first hardcore show. I interviewed Lou for my first zine in 1992 outside Unisound in Reading, PA, where we ended up talking hardcore for nearly an hour. Years later, one of the proudest nights of my career was hosting SOIA with Na**lm Death and Municipal Waste in 2019.

I’ve seen SOIA more than any other band. They are forever my 🐐, and along with Dave Franklin from Vision, Lou was one of my greatest musical heroes, and one of the most important voices that defined my youth. His words and conviction helped shape who I am today.

It was an incredible honor to help raise $8,000 for Lou and his family at our benefit this past April. My heart breaks for his family… not only for this unimaginable loss, but for everything they endured over the past year. No family should have to carry that kind of fear, exhaustion, and heartbreak.

Lou was a titan of hardcore. He taught a generation of kids like me to stand up for what was right, fight for what mattered, and always have your friends’ backs. Those lessons reached far beyond music.

I’m gutted that we’ll never see Lou… or the mighty SOIA… take that stage again. It doesn’t seem fair.

Rest easy, Lou. Thank you for the music, the memories, and everything you gave to all of us.

Thousands of you packed the building to shop, eat, get tatted, drink something cold, hear something loud, buy something weird, and generally make excellent (questionable) financial decisions while supporting 100’s of indie artists, makers and small businesses!

Y’ALL MADE THE VIBE IMMACULATE!

We had food trucks, tattoo artists, makers, collectors, musicians, horror nerds, vintage junkies, oddity lovers, punks, goths, metalheads, rockers, weirdos, misfits, freaks, creeps, sweethearts, degenerates, and every other flavor of beautifully offbeat human wandering the floor together and it was a beautiful thing to see!

So, THANK YOU to every single human (and the tons of awesome pups!) who came through the doors... you are the reason this thing continues to grow, evolve, and get weirder every year, after nearly 15 years of setting the New Jersey scene for the weird, offbeat and peculiar events in our region! Our goal is to creeate a high volume marketplace for our small businesses, and you’re the one’s who make that happen!
