Track update. We have the field mowed. The track is designed, and equipment is being lined up. I started rethinking about an oval. I don't know if I can afford to have it put in this year. Two options are have someone volunteer to come and scrape some topsoil. Or mow the grass to the dirt, and run the track into the ground? I've decided to let anything run. The area is so large there is space for 1/5 to run if they want. On days without games playing, nitro will be allowed. There are only like 4 Saturdays the entire summer with home games. So that almost guarantees that either Saturday or Sunday of every weekend should have at least one day for nitros. This is a family fun park. That means safety. There will be waivers and parts of the park will be off limits at certain times. For example, say there are people running big 1/7 or 1/5 cars at full speed on the west side of the field. That area will be roped off, and no one othere than the racers will be allowed in that area. A new losi Five B E is 60 pounds and on 12s can go almost 60mph. That could be deadly. I have seen little kids trying to get a better look, sneaking onto the track and getting hit by a 1/8 buggy. These rules will be serious. As with Spiderman, great power comes with great responsibility. We have an opportunity to offer something that could be really cool, let's keep it safe and fun. There will be power, and a work bench. I am also getting a 10x30 canopy. Canopies are always recommended. The area will also be secured. To protect from trespass and vandalism, security cameras will go up. So if you ever have that epic moment during a race or stunt, hopefully we'll be able to save it for you. Onwards and upwards, and Thank you.

Here's this week's RC news. There are a few new scx30 items. Furitek has a new chassis, and injora added new tires. Furitek also released a new radio meant for 4ws. The price is on point. Injora has also expanded it's scx30 line to include more wheels, tires, and direct mount servos. There are a couple of new 1/8 race buggys out. The sparko has a special edition that should be released soon. I don't have a price yet, but that anodized purple is fire!. I came across the Primus Panther, and thought for $399, what a great way to get into racing. It's 1/8 scale and it says it's 4s. Looking at the electronics, it should be 6s. Racing is limited to 4s, but for those days you want to let your hair down, 6s is nice. A little more investigation is needed. Still, $399 for a 4s is still a great deal. I see throwing in a $40 servo, transponder, a good set of tires, and you're racing. The CEN reaper also fits that category. It comes with a 4000kv motor. That is perfect for the 2s limit for racing. I've seen YouTubers getting some big speed out of this thing. It is a bit different. It's more HPI. It uses a twin vertical plate chassis. The price is also on point. I know that there isnt much in 4x4 sct under $400. I would look at this and the HoBao. Proline has a couple of new bodies. The mini Kraton looks nice, but that oval car? I thought immediately oval racing this fall. It fits both the losi Nascar and the Arrma Grom. You order what mounting system you need to go with the body.

RPP RC is still having a 50% off sale. There are lgrp tires for $9 (4) they have jconcepts for $18 (2x) a set of 2. They are normally $18 for just 2. They are running out of stuff. Some is not 50% but most is. I found hobbywing axe 50% off. Tekin rx4 50% off. There is still a lot to go through. Most major items are gone, but you might find a hidden treasure. The coupon code is WAREHOUSE. Good shopping 🛍.

Here it is. If you're into trailing with a bit of crawling. I said something new was coming. There are rules. Sometimes we can give hints. But never release information early. I enjoy doing this. I like doing RC news for everyone. I will continue to do a weekly news, unless of course there is a big drop. I have the permission in an email now, so construction starts soon. I should be out mowing and marking off land this weekend. Next week will be moving rocks. I hope to break ground the 7th, and start to have racing by the end of June. I have decided to do a basher/practice track. We can have racing, but this will be more of a fun play over serious race. I will also look into a possible oval track. If I do an oval, it will be combined with basher jumps in the middle. It could serve as a dirt oval or a monster truck race track. Thank you all for staying tuned. Onwards and upwards ✨️.

It's turning out to be a busy day in RC news. Some of you know, I am a huge Vanquish guy. I can not confirm, but will not deny, they are about to drop something new. I know something is coming, I just don't know what it is. I will update as soon as I can. As for track news, this weekend I will be mowing and marking off the areas for construction. I will be moving rocks and hope to start moving dirt by June 7th. I would be working that whole weekend, but opening race is June 6th at M66. I really hope to see some of you come check out what dirt racing is all about. It may sound strange to help promote another track. I don't see it that way. I see it as promoting the hobby as a whole. If Cherryland RC Raceway is going to succeed, M66 needs to succeed. The new track in Mancelona needs to succeed. If we don't help each other succeed, and tracks close down, that hurts the hobby way more than having a few drivers go to a track closer to their home. I see it as how much fun would football be, if there were only two teams?

Here, I just finished the news and this drops 10 mins later. As some know I race. My current 1/8 buggy is the TLR 8ight xe 2.0. This year is it's 3rd year of racing. It will probably be due for a replacement next year. I am a TLR fan boy, but I could see adding this to the stable. If you are into Off-Road racing or want to get started, this might be worth looking into. Team Associated has had a few issues with their last two 1/10 releases, but they identified the problems and either had a fix or upgrade within a couple of months. It's nice to see them listening to their racers and customers. TLR under Horizon, replacement parts are hit and miss. I can't get new replacement arms for my 8ight. I had to order a set of the losi rtr arms just to have a spare set. Something is better than nothing? And yes, there is a difference. The rtr has more of a "basher" style arm. The race version is more solid, with tunable inserts. If buying, I don't want to give my opinion, but I will tell you what I see. Every company has part stocking issues sometimes. Heck even my favorite company Vanquish has been out of stock on optic kits for a couple, few months now. Ask around, follow a group, see what people like or dislike. It does look like this is more evolutionary than revolutionary though. The body looks really aerodynamic, I do like the contours.

Here's the RC news for this week.

Injora has released a new 1/10 version of their "Toyota" style crawler body. Prices are around $100
Maverick rc has a few new releases. They have a tiny microbe that looks like a micro b fighter. They are about to release a new 1/12 brushless grom fighter. Prices run from $125-$240
Team Corally just released two mini xrt, mini Kraton fighters. They are brushed, but start at $165. They had a few issues with pre-production vehicles. If you purchase the vehicle it will either already be upgraded or come with the parts to upgrade. It does about 23mph and is a bit bigger than either of it's competition. If you consider buying a hobbywing system (it uses a 1/10 540 size motor) it could still be a very competitively priced compared to the Arrma or Traxxas.
RC4wd has a new 😅 tf2. The biggest news is that awesome Toyota body. They also changed their tire compounds and have some new 1.0 tires too. One thing that stands out is even though the tf2 still comes with a nimh battery, they did update the connector from the old Tamiya style to an xt60. Price is $549 for the Toyota. Welcome to 2015.
JCONCEPTS released three new bodies. They have two new buggy race bodies for the Team Associated B7 series and B84 series. They also have a new 1/10 crawler body that has some serious Hummer vibes. Prices start at $49.
Lastly Axial (no pic) now has a replacement body for the CJ7. The lexan piece alone is $90. Then there are all the hard plastics and hardware still needed. It could be well over $200 just for that body.
If a 1/10 Jeep CJ is what you want, I would suggest looking into a project IJ.
