The Moonbeam Children's Book Awards started back in 2006, thanks to Jenkins Group and IndependentPublisher.com, to celebrate the unique and diverse world of children’s books. Meet 2021 Moonbeam Spirit Award Gold Medalist Amanda Davis, author of 30,000 Stitches: The Inspiring Story of the National 9/11 Flag! 🏅

As Amanda's debut picture book, 30,000 Stitches marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her career—and earning a Moonbeam Award helped propel that journey forward.

Reflecting on the impact of the award, Amanda shared:
"Winning the Moonbeam Award gave me the confidence to continue my journey as a children’s book creator. Since winning the award, I’ve published two more picture books, one of them my author-illustrator debut, and I have three more books on the way."

Today, Amanda continues to highlight her Moonbeam recognition by featuring the award seal on books she sells, using the digital seal online, and showcasing the honor on her website and across retail listings.

For authors considering entering book awards, Amanda's advice is simple:
