that Detroit is home to the oldest continuously operating jazz club in the world? Since 1934, Baker's Keyboard Lounge has stood as a cultural landmark and a cornerstone of both Detroit and the global jazz community.

What began in May 1934 as a beer and sandwich restaurant opened by Francis Baker evolved into a world-renowned venue where the greatest names in jazz performed. Legends including Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Nat King Cole, and Louis Armstrong have all graced the Baker’s stage, shaping its legacy as a hub for excellence in music.

Eighty-five years later, Baker’s continues to thrive, celebrating Detroit’s deep-rooted musical heritage while offering a stage for both established and emerging artists.
