Oooopah! 2026 really is the gift that keeps on giving. For those of you hoping to snag some honey this weekend at Pumpkintown, that fabulous local event has been postponed until October 24.

I am actually extremely thankful that the folks with Friendly City Festivals prioritized our safety and our businesses. It can’t be easy to reschedule a festival that large in just two weeks. ❤️❤️❤️

So here is the current plan for October 24th!

D and the kids and any friends who want to pitch in will be running our honey booth at Pumpkintown. They may not be beekeeping experts, but they are honey tasting experts.

We have 6 new flavors for our honey clients to try, including a whole summer harvest from Tina T’s hive and a fall blend from 3 other ladies who took advantage of our beautiful fall blossoms.

I will be taking my fiber arts show on the road for the 24th! I’m keeping my hot date with Olde Concord Fall Festival and will be there spinning and gabbing and selling all the fiber goodies.

*If anyone local wants to pickup honey on Sunday, send me a message! We have LOTS this year.

**Today is for battening down the hatches and tomorrow is for tea and soup and being thankful for rain and hopeful for safety for everyone in the path of the hurricane.

I am beyond thrilled to share that The Arts Center (aka Athens Area Council for the Arts), has selected Redemption Arc as part of their 2026 Open Exhibit. I know my work is non-traditional and probably doesn't qualify as fine art. But here I am- with a piece in a real gallery in my own town.

Obviously my social commentary is a reflection of myself and not the Arts Center. I do want to say that the Athens Area Council for the Arts is one of the leading institutions of my region's own redemption arc, and they are a bastion of hope and leadership.

The opening reception is this Friday, Oct 2 from 5-7 and you can see the exhibit from now until October 30th. Please stop by and show them some love. Wing mom, my besties, and Chewie and i will be there for a little while on Friday. Then we're celebrating with tacos!

Today I'll be sharing a bunch of reels of behind-the-scenes making of Redemption Arc as well as commentary and whatnot. The book of faces loves short reels, but it is HARD for to condense 25 hours of work down into a few seconds of video. So there is also a truly epic blog post that gives a deep dive of the history of the materials I chose for Redemption Arc.

My main goal is that you enjoy all 3 upcoming videos and my streeeeeeeetch goal is that you read most or all of the blog post and go with me on a journey through the last 250 years both dark and redemptive.

I've scaled back a lot of my in-person shows this year. My kids are in their events-and-activities era, and I'm booked as their chauffeur most weekend.

BUT the Olde Concord Fall Festival Hosted by Chota Masonic Lodge is such a lovely local festival, and it is a benefit for LIFT East Tennessee, a support organization for neurospicy families like mine.

The festival is all handmade arts and crafts, lots of delicious food trucks, and some amazing local musical artists. It is just one day! Saturday, October 24th from 10-5 in Farragut.

Pencil it on your calendar now and come see me at the Fall Festival!

I have news! Wiggly squiggly exciting happy news…

Local folks can now shop in-person for my handmade work at The Southern Market in Knoxville! It is a truly fabulous gift and decor shop up on Bearden Hill AND they’re open Monday through Saturday 10-6.

The in-store gig is new to me, so my imposter syndrome and I started small with this lovely set of shelves and a very classy series made from floral corduroy and handspun/handwoven. ☺️

Right now the plan is to make a Southern Market exclusive series about once a month. I’ll sneak peek the series here and on insta and let y’all know when it is stocked!

Shearing stand traffic jam. It is so hot, everyone wants to be first.

It is a bit early for shearing for us, but a lot of the goats were showing signs of heat exhaustion/stroke this weekend. So here we are. Laboring on Labor Day.

Ps- we’re doing it in the kitchen because there is ac and I can’t possibly shear goats in the barn in this heat. 🥵

Pps- this is part of why I NEVER bring something I made to potluck parties. 🫣😂

Ppps- climate change is real.
