Hey 🐝s, good afternoon,

I just want to take a moment to say how grateful I am for all of the creatives who have reached out and shared their businesses with us.

It has genuinely been such a joy reading about what everyone creates, the stories behind your work, and the dreams you’re building right here in Tomball.

There is so much creativity in this community, and I’m incredibly excited to be working alongside Mimi to explore what the next steps could look like.

I’ll be continuing to work with Mimi behind the scenes as we go through everything, and we’re both looking forward to what’s ahead.

THE HIVE IS OPEN FOR ARTIST AND MAKERS FOR NEW INTERNET CAFE IN DOWNTOWN TOMBALL!!!

We’re brewing up GREAT things in the Heart of our Town.

We’re opening Mimi’s Internet Café + Marketplace, a new space on the corner of W Main + S Elm where coffee, creativity, community, and small businesses can live under one roof.

We’re currently looking for the right people to help bring it to life:

☕ A coffee anchor partner — our biggest need. We’re looking for an experienced coffee maker or coffee business interested in becoming a central part of the café and helping shape our daily coffee program.

🥐 Baked goods + treats — pastries, specialty sweets, and other grab-and-go offerings.
*Spots are filling fast*

🛍️ Retail + makers — artists, vintage curators, booksellers, plant people, handmade goods, gifts, and other small businesses with something special to bring to the space.

Some partnerships are already in motion, and now we’re looking to fill in the rest of the picture.

Hey 🐝s good evening,

it’s been all gas, no brakes these past few weeks. Today was the first day I finally got to catch my breath and breathe a bit.

The next art show we will be honoring Kim McInerney. I gave Abby (Kim’s daughter) a few prompts in “passing notes” theme — little questions meant to help me understand her mom beyond just the paintings and our intital artist interview back in July. Exactly a month ago yesterday. 💛

Abby brought these notes to Bonnie’s art show in a completely sealed envelope, with the biggest smile on her face.

I knew that envelope was something I needed to open when I had the space to actually receive it.

That was this morning/afternoon during brunch.

If you’ve ever seen Pulp Fiction, I felt like Vincent Vega when he opened Marsellus Wallace’s briefcase opening that envelope. Speechless. In awe. Tears started to roll up to the front of my eyes.

Six handwritten notes. I opened the first one and immediately started crying at my table.

I haven’t passed notes since high school, so there was already something nostalgic about it. But more than anything, I felt incredibly trusted. Grateful.

It reminded me exactly why I want Kim’s show to be more than just an art show. I want to honor the artist behind the art and I know these notes is the pulse of that.

And after my reading today, I’m just truly excited about what’s to come cause … I don’t want to just keep displaying art. I want to do it a tad bit differently. The vision is to truly curate an immersive experience that emulates the artist.

So, we’ve got some work to do 🐝s — let’s surprise ourselves and in the process lean into some nostalgia.

Good morning 🐝s !! 100 Hive-mates!?!?!?

100 people who decided to follow along, pull up, and see what we’re building here. And I’m beyonnnnnd grateful—Truly.

And one more BIG thank you to everybody who showed up, supported, bought art, baked, played music, helped, shared, encouraged, and made Bonnie’s Art Show what it was. Magical.

The Hive is only getting started and this is what’s on our radar for upcoming shows & events:

Kim McInerney ‘s nostalgia-themed art show,
Men & Misfits Art show (Open Call for Artists),
& The Oddballs of Tomball Art show (Open Call for Artists) is coming!

In no specific order & HEY, let’s mix it up.
Anyone into theatre, rollerskating, or live talent shows?? That’s something I’M itching to see and do.

Thank you for bringing bright red color into Bonnie’s cheeks. Thank you for making her smile. Thank you for buying her art, for letting her speak about herself and her art.

Hey 🐝s morning morning,

I’ve been thinking about Miss Jessie Lane today from Jessie Lane Sugar Co.

I still remember meeting her at a local market. It was hot, she was working hard, and you could tell she was pouring everything she had into her little business. Her husband at her side, encouraging her to keep going. I remember bringing friends to her tent and later asking her to make cookies for one of our art shows because I truly believed in what she was creating.

Seeing her at the 54th Annual Tomball Night has me SO over the moon happy for her. Look out for the big pink tent! (Map below)

This wasn’t the doing of 1 person purchasing, but rather the complete opposite—

It took someone noticing. Someone giving her a chance. Someone telling a friend, placing an order, sharing a post, coming back again. Inevitably becoming a community effort. And to watch the community roar and rave for her sweets—my God, I’m in awe.

That’s what I love about small towns like Tomball. We have a way of getting behind our own.

Jessie has worked incredibly hard for this, and our community has continued to show up for her. That’s more than a beautiful thing to witness.

Congratulations, Jessie. I know little-you, who came to Tomball Night every year, is SO proud. 💛🐝
