Workshop is free and open to all ages. No writing experience necessary. Registration required. Please bring water bottle; notebook, pencil, and copy of photo (recent or vintage) of a place you “called home.” The workshop is followed by dinner with music by Keith Sanchez.

Levi Romero is the first Poet Laureate of New Mexico and Professor of Chicano Studies at UNM. He is the author of A Poetry of Remembrance: New and Rejected Works, In the Gathering of Silence and Sagrado: A Photopoetics Across the Chicano Homeland and co-editor of a collection of essays Querencia: Reflections on the New Mexico Homeland and Metamorfosis: New Mexico Women Writers, Bilingual Anthology.

Mexican American Civil Rights Rhetoric. She co-edited Latina Leadership: Language

Salt of the Earth”: Public Rhetoric, Cultural Resistance, and Cold War Politic and a memoir, Ginny: An Archeology of
Women, Writing, and Wilderness and an eco-poetry collection, The San Joaquin River Club.
