Linda Shaner has had a busy month of May. She had 6 watercolors in the ACCV Light & Color Show at the Hillcrest Center which included one sale.
She had a watercolor “Cactus Garden” and an oil “Dove Mountain Trail” juried into the Santa Paula Society of the Arts Open Show. “Cactus Garden” took 1st place in both Judge’s Award and People’s Choice for watercolor. This piece also sold at the
Reception.
Linda also has a watercolor “Southwest Vibes” hanging in the California Art Club’s The American Road Trip show at the CAC Gallery at the Old Mill.
To round out the month, she had 2 pieces juried into TOAA Open Show and her watercolor “Fishhook Spring” took 2nd place in watercolor.

Lili Miura’s “The Ebb of Liberty and Justice,” a surrealistic art will be exhibited at the Doma Arts Complex in downtown LA. Artist Reception is on June 11th, 6 pm. The Asian American Justice of Southern California and Doma Arts Complex is hosting this AAPI show. The reception will open with a live Taiko drumming performance by Lili Miura’s group “Improv Taiko” at 7 pm. Show runs June 11 through July 25th. 300 Santa Fe Ave. LA.

Joan Sharron has two mixed media artworks in the Westlake Village Art Guild Exhibit this June 5th through June 27th. The reception is June 14th 3-5PM. All are welcome!

Sheri Jones’ watercolor, “Roadside Harvest”, won 3rd place by the judges at the Santa Paula Society of the Arts reception and it also won 3rd place in the People’s Choice Award in watercolor. In addition, her mixed media, “Gears Gone By” won 2nd place in the People’s Choice Awards.

Jonaki Das Hazara has her piece, Guardian of the Land: Selected for the Westlake Village Art Guild, Juried Choice.
She also does Art Instruction: Currently teaching art through CRPD.

Kim Paul has been juried into the WVAG, Westlake Village Art Guild Open Show. Exhibit dates are June 5th through June 27th, at the Newbury Park Gallery.
Awards Reception is Sunday June 14th from 3:00-5:00. Please drop by to see the Art and meet the Artists.

President’s message June!

TOAA’s 2026 Open Juried Show was a tremendous success, with our biggest reception turnout ever! A heartfelt thank you to Open Show Chair Linda Shaner, our dedicated volunteer team, and judge Mike Hernandez for making the event so memorable. Congratulations to all of the award winners, and be sure to check out photos and reels from the show on our Instagram and pages. 🎨✨

We’re also excited to participate in Concert in the Park on August 9 at Conejo Community Park. Members interested in representing TOAA are welcome to contact Judy Koenig for details.

Our updated TOAA website is now live with refreshed member photos and artwork. If you have not yet submitted your updates, please respond to Jonaki Das Hazra’s emails. We are also still seeking a volunteer to fill the Publicity Chair position.

Lastly, we send our love and gratitude to past president Barb Welch as she moves to Laguna Beach to be closer to family. She will be deeply missed by our art community. ❤️
