Uptown Fine Art Printing Studio will be working on an amazing, exciting project together with Wendy Black-Nasta, director of the non-profit organization: www.artistsforworldpeace.org
Name of the project: 6x6 4 PEACE
The organization send out more then 1,000 6x6" blanc canvasses to artists all over the world ๐, asking them to create a painting on the 6x6" canvas and send it back ๐ช to Artists For World Peace.
The last painted canvasses came in yesterday. Today & tomorrow we will start scanning, cropping and color correcting them for the online Art and 'PoP-Up' Gallery ๐ฒ
The goal is to sell Aโช๏ธLโช๏ธL 6x6 4 PEACE canvasses.
Proceeds go to WFAP 2.0.1.8. NATIVE EYES PROJECTS:

In September of 2017, through the vision of AFWPโs founder Wendy Black-Nasta, Artists for World Peace launched its 6ร6 4 PEACE Project. We invited artists to create a painting on a six-inch-by-six-inch canvas that they would then donate to AFWP. The response has been overwhelming. In just three weeks AFWP received 1,500 canvases from artists throughout the United States, with hundreds of artists waiting for the next round of submissions. What began as a project is quickly becoming a movementโ a โWall of Peace,โ displaying thousands of 6ร6 canvases; a symbol of peace, unity, and hope. You can purchase a one-of-a-kind painting from our Wall of PEACE for a $50 donation. Our PEACE WALL will then travel around the U.S. We'll be hosting pop up galleries of our 6x6 4 PEACE in states from New York to California!! Very honored to have Soraya Jean-Louis McElroy in my Studio today. She will be showing her body of work in New Orleans. Below is a Reproduction of Soraya's awesome painting ! The photo does not do much justice. but it gives you an idea. Watch her people.....
I was approached by Linda Prince, a photo-realistic painter, to print her reproductions. Her earlier work was printed on an Iris Printer -a color inkjet printer introduced in 1985 & used till about 2010-. Linda visited a few printers in North America, but she was not satisfied with the color proofs, way to vibrant. When hearing the word Iris, I knew what to do to give the reproduction the same 'soft' feel. I use to work on the Iris printer back in the days. Using a very specific non-coated art paper did the trick. ! It took me a good 5 hours to color correct the file, but... here we are, printing it !

I'm looking into running my Fine Art Printing Studio -and in a later stage it will be a whole community, solely on Solar Energy. I noticed while doing research that -almost every time- the word investment comes up. I have 2 questions: 1) What would be the best way to set up a 'green energy' environment and 2) is there a way to get, if necessary, financial aid to accomplish my goal !

Printing an exhibition on the "Barberini Tapestries" for the Cathedral Church of Saint John de Divine. The photo's are from the Cathedral archives. They needed to be restored and made into a sepia color. Opening: March 21st !

One of the prints I produced for Coffee Shop "E L I A N A" located near Brugge, Belgium. The owner Ann, handed me an very old 4x6" picture of her mom -Eliana.
It was scanned, retouched, turned into sepia color and printed on canvas. Final size 40 x 60". It was then glued directly to the wall in the back of het koffiehuis.

The process starts with printing a 'soft' but high contrast Black & White image given to me by the artist Gail Sherman. Last 2016 beginning stage project I was working on in the Atelier of Fabiola Jean-Louis. She's working on her upcoming solo exhibition. Very thankful to be on her team where creativity is unlimited, perfection is the goal and the standards high. I also love the fact that Fabiola passes on her "library of knowledge" to another generation of artist (.....Art is a system of communication, of encoding meanings about the ancestral past and a means of creating spiritual power. A great moment in my printing Studio. A visit from Fabiola Jean-Louis and her 2 intern students. Passing on to the younger generation about the skills and expertise we acquired over the years. We love it !
With my student-interns, Gabe and Alex, on the process of working with a printer. What many don't know is that I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to go into a partnership with my printer and great friend, Antoon Taghon of , so our studio's are literally right across the hall from the other! I'll always say that I am living out my dreams to not only have a career in what I love, but to share what I've learned with others. When I got the studio, I also imagined teaching in it, and here it is. The reality is so sweet...Thank you for connecting me with these absolutely brilliant students, and helping my dream come true. I love them!
