Wtf is this wood?
Almost impossible to split as the axe just sinks in... ive never seen this before. Kind of smells like a barn to be honest.

Now how do I fix this gap? Move the board closer to the other one and rip a small piece towards the house? Or another option?

What the heck is this? On someone's front lawn on my walking route. It's a little bigger than a manhole cover. Some sort of cutting blade/drill head?

Just paid $4,900 for a new driveway. The contractor said he had 20 years of experience… but this honestly looks terrible to me.

The finish is uneven, the edges look rough, and overall it just doesn’t seem professionally done. Am I overreacting here, or would you be unhappy too?

What would you do next in this situation?

Absolute MASSIVE thank you to my dude (Arbor Tech). This is at one of my properties, tree was legit going to fall on the house tonight, homie dropped what he was doing and raced over. The tenant called me and sent me vids of the root system lifting and heaving with the wind on the side of the tree opposite the house. It was 100% on its way down. Unfortunate, but the house is worth more than the tree.
