Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative (CPI)

CPI is a local group of playwrights seeking developmental feedback on their scripts.

CPI's page supports our mission to help local area playwrights improve their work by promoting free playwriting workshops so that scripts can be submitted and possibly selected for cold and staged readings so that playwrights can ultimately see their new works become published or stage produced.

CPI is proud to announce its Lovefest 4 ten-minute play festival fundraiser selections that will be fully produced at the Evendale Bell Tower Arts Pavilion on February 12, 13 and 14, 2027 to support the Save the Animals Foundation no-kill shelter.

Let's all support CPI playwright, Bertha Lynn Davis at the premiere of her upcoming documentary at the Mariemont Theatre next month!

Tickets are officially on sale — for the premiere of THE 90S TO 90.

This documentary explores mental health and emotional silence across two generations of the Black community — those age 90+ and those born in the 1990s. Through personal interviews, professional insights, spoken word, and a closing dance performance by CA2DanceCrew, the film asks what's changed between generations — and what hasn't.

Two generations. One reflection. It's time to talk.
