Founding Backend Engineer / Future CTO – Music Tech Startup (Equity)
I’m the Founder & CEO of Rhythm Deck, an upcoming all-in-one music discovery and promotion platform for independent musicians, and I’m looking for a serious backend engineer to join our founding team.
This is not a short-term contract.
This is a founding startup role for an engineer who wants to help build a real company and potentially step into the CTO position.
Rhythm Deck is designed to solve a major problem for independent artists:
Today musicians must use 5–8 different platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, BandLab, Bandcamp, YouTube, and multiple social media tools just to promote their music.
Rhythm Deck brings those capabilities together into a single platform.
We are currently pre-launch, preparing for early growth and our first funding round.

Current Status of the Platform
• Frontend platform is already built
• Supabase backend infrastructure is in place
• Core concept, product structure, and platform features are defined
• Early user signups are underway
What we need now is the right backend engineer to help connect the architecture, build the backend systems, and work closely with me to complete the platform for launch.

Your Role
You will work directly with the CEO to complete and scale the platform.
Responsibilities include:
• Connecting frontend systems to the Supabase backend
• Building backend architecture and platform logic
• Designing scalable database structures
• Implementing secure authentication and user management
• Developing APIs and integrations
• Managing media storage workflows for music and video
• Optimizing performance and scalability
• Helping define the long-term technical roadmap
You will be deeply involved in the product and technical direction of the company.

Required Skills
• Strong backend engineering experience
• PostgreSQL / relational database design
• API architecture and integration
• Secure authentication systems
• Cloud architecture and scalable SaaS design
• Experience building production web applications

• Supabase experience
• Startup experience
• Creator platforms or social platforms
• Media hosting / streaming systems
• Payment systems (Stripe or subscriptions)

Location
• Must live in the United States or Mexico
• Remote work

Compensation
This is a founding equity role with:
• Meaningful equity ownership
• Potential CTO position
• Salary after launch and funding
You will be joining at the ground-floor stage of a platform designed to become a major hub for independent musicians.
