We're thrilled to welcome Juan Velasco to The Bridge Mainstage cast!
Juan Velasco is an Ecuadorian-born improv performer and educator. He began his artistic journey in Ecuador before moving to Argentina in 2003, where he continued his training and earned a degree in theater and directing.
In 2009, Juan moved to Los Angeles and began his improv journey. He trained at Monkey Butler, where he founded his first improv team, E.S.L., and performed in numerous festivals and shows across the city. He later graduated from iO West, performing on the main stage Harold team Cash for Gold, as well as long-form teams Day Job and Heraldo (Spanish-language improv) at The Second City.
Juan has taught improv in Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as in different states and countries, working with students of all backgrounds in both Spanish and English. He was part of the Main Stage cast at ImprovCity in Orange County, where he performed regularly with teams such as Juan +1 and Thrift Shop.
Now based in Arizona, Juan focuses on teaching and performing improv, helping students build confidence, creativity, and strong stage presence through practical, experience-based training. He is also the creator of the educational Instagram platform , where he shares improv tips with a global audience.
