Wednesday Reflection - Inspired Art
⚓🌊 Kedge Anchor Heart
Prince of Tides™ | Seashell Girl™ | Namor Approved!™

Out on the water this Memorial Day, the captain spoke of kedge anchors — how early explorers charted their way through the shallow, uncertain waters near Anclote Island.
A place named for the Spanish word “Anclote” — meaning anchor.

They didn’t rush blindly forward.
They placed one anchor behind, one ahead —
and slowly pulled themselves through the unknown.
Carefully.
Intentionally.
Learning, with reverence for what lay unseen beneath the surface.

That stayed with me.

Because lately… I’ve been drifting in uncharted waters too.
After Hurricane Helene. After the job loss.
After losing someone I never imagined this life without. 💔

I didn’t plan this part of the map.
No markings. No lighthouse. No familiar shoreline.
Just open water… as I search… and the aching quiet of what now?

But even in that stillness, I’ve learned.
Clarity. Passion. Desire. Strength.
A deeper understanding of self.
And that’s where the kedge heart comes in.

I cast one anchor forward — not to stop, but to guide.
To catch on something real.
To find resistance, and use it to pull myself forward, inch by inch. ⚓🌬️

I cast one behind — to remember.
To honor the love, the life, the version of me before the storm.
To learn from him. Carry him. But not be anchored by him.

And so I move — one pull at a time.
Toward hope. Toward faith. Toward love.
Toward the evolving edge of who I am.

Because maybe life — maybe healing —
isn’t always full sail under clear skies.
Maybe it’s small, sacred movements.
Anchored in what we’ve known,
guided through the storms and uncharted waters by what we still dare to love, hope, and dream.

🌅✨ Sunset Healing ✨🌅

There’s a certain magic that happens as the sun melts into the horizon of the Florida Gulf Coast — a quiet, holy kind of healing. 🌊🔥 As light gives way to shadow, everything around you transforms: trees, rocks, even people become soft silhouettes. The sky becomes a canvas of shifting color and emotion, painted new each evening — never once the same. 🎨💫

You watch the sun drift downward. You feel it — not just with your eyes, but in your soul. The moment brushes over you gently, like the breeze that carries the scent of salty ocean water. 🌬️🌴 Whether the sea is a mirror or a pulse of waves shifting all that dares ride them, the message is always the same:

Let go. Be still. Just be.

And in the hush after the sun disappears, you remain.

In the dark, barefoot in the sand, your hands touching earth, your breath syncing with the rhythm of the tide. 🌒👣 The grains of sand might scrape — but it grounds you. Reminds you that you are real, alive, and home in your own body.
