We don't paint residential projects very often - but here's a poolside mural in South Tampa.
Much gratitude to everyone who has supported our work through the years. 🙏
Illsol is the studio space and co-curated gallery of duo Michelle Sawyer and Tony Krol.
We work with cities, architects, private companies (big and small), nonprofit organizations, and public art agencies to complete murals and installations of all sizes. We are located in the historic neighborhood of Tampa Heights in Tampa, FL.

The Official 2021 Gasparilla Music Festival Poster
.
Everyday, is really about counting blessings. 🔄
.
These last few months have been surreal for us.
.
Teaming up with this year has been such a heartwarming experience, matching the energy of the gift we aim to give through visual art, with the gift their incredible team gives with music each year has been an incredible dance.
.
As said: I move you move, just like that? That’s the space of magic.
.
This is the official design of the 2021 festival poster… we are so incredibly grateful for the love and support of their whole team through this journey, not only with this poster, but with collaborating with the festival for Acoustic Dreams, a and festival exhibit.
.
Our advice, never stop being out of your damned mind. Go crazy, make art, love yourself and your process. Make your own day, to make others…
.
GMF was started with a few people in sync on an idea built of love. That’s all it takes. 🔥
.
So many people who have touched our gallery space are up on the stage this year.. , ❤️, the whole fam.. along side none other than.. … on and on, till the break of dawn…
.
Here’s to the crazy ones that say: I’m going to do this for my people, and make it happen.
.
With that.. let’s go. A Toast to Tampa, to GMF, to all of the artists writing and putting pen to paper and pigment to surface to make this world what it is..
.
“It’s a celebration bi***es, grab a drink grab a glass…”

I didn't go into the relevant history of Theo Wujick and other influences of USF / UT - but crammed as much history as I could - hopefully it's as accurate as possible.
Tampa is dope! Plugged some things we're working on also! Big things next year! Looking forward to it!

The City of Tampa has commissioned many murals over the past few years. Typically for any city-curated project, most of them depict the history of the community. Private commissions and ...
Stay Strong Tampa.
Interesting timing for this project completed last week.
We were commissioned by the Austin Center which is now Westshore City Center to paint this building on Westshore BLVD in the Tampa's Westshore business district.

This project represents thinking of one another, in business... in ideas, and adapting for the greater good of humanity, it also represents change and progress.
The number 7:
The paper airplane represents a large idea, and unity. There are 7 smaller airplanes, representing smaller ideas that don't come to fruition, or failures, and the number 7 is a sacred number. We won't go into the many ways the number 7 is represented in the universe from sacred geometry, and the positive creative force, but there are plenty of ways to research its significance on your own if you're curious about them...
The number 4:
There are four butterflies; symbolizing hope, change, endurance and the soul. In the human experience, the number four connects mind, body, and spirit with the physical world.
The number 4:
The child's hand throwing a paper airplane represents new ideas... And the sequence represents the four stages of growth, or developing intellect.
Nature:
The natural elements and plants represent the Earth and the natural order of things. Paying attention to nature, as we design communities, businesses, and actions will create positive outcomes.
Nature has a perfect, regulatory balance. Nature also provides good design. Paying attention to the natural world when solving human problems, or presenting solutions usually provides sound answers and examples...
In addition, it is possible to integrate local natural wonders into property design. For instance working with landscape architects to promote and attract pollinators and work with non-invasive species of plants.
Significance of locality:
TPA represents the significance of the Tampa International Airport and its role in Tampa's growth.
The sun rays represent change, and a better future.
The outline of Westshore is present, underneath the symbolic imagery in hopes to bring good positive energy to this district, and property, and our city. Our hope is that businesses move forward to think more holistically.
It's not always about the bottom line. It's about humanity.
The greater good, and the intent, and focus on this will make business work.
This is the future for us all.
We designed this image with all of this in mind last August. It's quite interesting how it was painted in this time we are all facing together.
Commissions are open for pieces. Pieces for offices, homes, etc.
We're now taking commissions through June.
Please send an email to [email protected] for a quote on a piece and get your piece scheduled. Thank you for looking.
This Saturday, get a preview of 50 goats that were painted by different artists for Project G.O.A.T Grady Goat Yoga Tampa Bay / Grady Goat Foundation: Global Offense Against Trafficking.
.
Forced slavery and s*x trafficking is a universal problem.
.
We are in a time of a shift of global consciousness to tackle socioeconomic injustices in the world, to become a more empathetic human Global community, to become more connected and shift to the common good.
.
This project is part of that fight, a small part to help end the selfish act of harming children for personal gain.
.
Our piece focuses on a country where trafficking has been increasing for the last decade.
.
Mexico is a country with extreme income inequality, high rates of poverty, and corruption which is an environment that can force women and children into slavery, and s*x trafficking. We aimed to focus on the beauty of the country and their culture, because if everyone had the ability to understand the beauty of the human condition, empathy, and love, and realize that when we harm others we harm ourselves, these issues would dissipate from the world.
.
Think of the abusers who profit off of the desperation of others, their lack of understanding of the beauty within, of a small child, a country, or a culture. For those who are selfish to open their minds and eradicate these severe global problems of harm, a deeper understanding of empathy is needed, and fortunately by design, it is something humans understand through evolution and the conditions of the universe. Death already teaches us suffering, we just need to pay attention.
.
For everyone to understand empathy, we need common ground, and to realize at the core we are all of the same cosmic material..... operating within the rules of this world.
.
The Day of the Dead is a holiday to remember the deceased, and loved ones, but if everyone could only understand that the power of love can also solve most of the problems for the living, humans would not be compelled to take advantage of one another and cause each other suffering in the same way as the perception of death.
