Don’t forget the haunted happenings coming up this Saturday October 19th! A complete evening of Family fun!

Trick or Treat Trail at the South Tama High school upper parking lot from 4-6 PM! Bring the kids out to enjoy the fun! Gail's Academy of Dance will be performing the “thriller” dance throughout the evening. The trail is sponsored by the STC Student Council and the Tama Toledo Area Chamber of commerce.

After you get your treats- head down to the Tama Civic Center to enjoy a soup supper starting at 5 until they run out. The soup supper is provided by Tama Emergency Services and is a free will donation! Sounds like it could be a chilly night so soup will be perfect!

Then starting at 7 the Haunted Hayride will start, riding around the former cherry lake on the rec trail. You never know what creepy creatures you might encounter! The hayride will run from 7 to 11 PM.

Thank you to the City of Tama, the City of Tama EMS and everyone who volunteers their time to make the hayride a success!

Scary fun is coming up soon!

Don’t forget- we need volunteers for the hayride in many capacities- line and attack monitors and scarers are what we need now the most. The more scarers we have the more successful the hayride is!

If you are able to volunteer, please call Tama city hall or visit during office hours to sign up.

The Haunted Hayride needs you!! This years haunted hayride is happening on Saturday, October 19th- and we need volunteers to pull it off!

Volunteers are needed for scarers, drivers and monitors for both on the hayrack and line management.

This event is provided solely by volunteers, and it’s the most successful when we have lots of scarers and support help! Please consider helping out!

Want to know more? Come to our planning meeting on Tuesday, September 24th. It’s at 6:00 pm at the Tama Civic Center. You will get more details then.

There will be an informational planning meeting about this years Haunted Hayride on Sept 24th at 6 PM at the Tama City Hall. If you would like to be part of the event, please try to attend the meeting!

This year’s haunted hayride will take place on Saturday, October 19th, and many volunteers are needed to pull it off!

Get started on your Holiday Shopping at the Holiday Craft & Vendor Fair on Saturday, November 18th, hosted by the South Tama County After Prom Committee.

The fair is open from 10 AM to 2 PM at the South Tama County High School- 1715 Harding St. in Tama Iowa.

Admission is $5 per person at the door for the vendor fair.

In addition, lots of other fun Holiday events happening in Tama-Toledo all day on Saturday the 18th! Come visit us!

Thank you Tama Toledo for a GREAT night of Halloween fun!

Over 300 kids came out for the Trick or Treat Trail- thank you to the Tama Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce, South Tama County Schools, The STC Student Council, Gails Academy of Dance, Cat Trax and ALL the local businesses and organizations that stepped up to provide the Halloween fun!

The soup supper ran out of food- so also a big success! Thank you to the Eagles Auxiliary, Tama emergency management services and others who helped serve up supper!

And the hayride! We asked you to step up and you did in a big way! We had lots of scarers, drivers, monitors and helpers to keep the evening running smoothly. Thank you to the City of Tama staff and Jamie Youngbear for heading things up!! Thank you to everyone that volunteered! We needed all of you! We hope you will volunteer again in the future so we can keep it going. For a free and totally volunteers run event we think it’s pretty awesome!

Last but not least - thank you to the community for coming out and supporting our evening! Your support was amazing. We estimate 600 people enjoyed the hayride!
