You do not need barbershop experience. You do not need to know the music. And you do not need an audition to visit.

If you enjoy singing, are curious about barbershop harmony, or miss being part of an ensemble, come spend a Thursday evening with us.

The Capital Chordsmen welcome all singers regardless of gender or experience level. We will help you find your part and get connected.

Sixty years of harmony gives us plenty to look back on. But this summer, we are especially excited about what comes next.

The Capital Chordsmen have been part of Tallahassee since 1966, and our next chapter is being shaped by returning members, new singers, developing quartets, and the simple joy of making music together.

If you have ever wondered what it feels like to be inside a ringing chord, come see us on a Thursday evening.

We rehearse Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Visitors are always welcome.

Earlier this month, the Capital Chordsmen quietly passed an important milestone.

The Tallahassee Chapter’s charter was officially approved on July 5, 1966. Twenty-seven determined singers helped establish the chapter after local interest in forming a barbershop organization had persisted for more than a decade.

The following March, the new chapter presented its first “Annual Night of Harmony.” That began a tradition of sharing a ca****la harmony with Tallahassee that continues today.

Sixty years later, we’re grateful for everyone who has sung with us, supported us, attended a performance, or helped keep the music ringing.

We’ve been a little quieter on Facebook since our 60th Anniversary Show, but the singing hasn’t stopped!

The Capital Chordsmen are back at work learning new music, including selections for a growing gospel repertoire. We had nearly 30 singers together at rehearsal last week, and there’s nothing quite like hearing that many voices lock into a ringing chord.

We’re also excited to see new faces joining us. Men and women who enjoy singing are always welcome to visit, listen, or sing along. You don’t need any prior experience.

We rehearse Thursday evenings at 7:00 at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Send us a message if you’d like to learn more!
