When I began organizing the tarot deck photo shoots, I knew that the High Priestess was going to be my card.
The High Priestess is a very special card to me because of my role as a Reiki master and connection to my intuition.
My intuition has always guided me and led me to where I needed to be in life.
It just felt like the right card for me.
I'm an embodied intuitive, can you tell?

I really wanted to depict that aspect of my life because I just felt so close to the core meaning of this card.
I felt like it was really important to capture all of the aspects of the High Priestess:
- the Triple Moon Goddess
- the light and the dark
- the divine knowledge from the veil beyond
- the intuition
- the power that comes with channeling and being connected to that energy
I had a lot of fun conceptualizing and creating this card.
Originally, I wanted to create the pillars with the aerial silks rigged light and dark, but in the first shoot, things went awry and I forgot nearly all of the symbolism I had so excitedly planned out.
The only things I managed to get up there with me were the crown, the scepter, and the cloak.
When we had our reshoot scheduled, I knew that that was my time to redeem that card and really do the High Priestess some justice.
I decided to go with an inward depiction versus an outward expression of energy, because the High Priestess calls us to go within and trust our inner guidance and our inner intuition.
I felt like that would be better displayed with my eyes closed rather than open and gazing out.
What do you think about the way we composed this shot?
