We walked the grounds of the old epileptic colony at Springfield State Hospital—closed since the 1970s, but not empty.

Jess and I didn’t even have to say it out loud. We both felt it. Like the buildings and the land are still remembering every story it was asked to hold.

Honestly, such a wonderful tour if you ever have the opportunity to snag tickets. We’ve been trained by movies to panic the second energy feels “off”… like something’s about to jump into our bodies and take the wheel. That’s not how this works.
