September is here. And it always feels so bittersweet.
We still have plenty of busy days ahead through the end of the year. But Meghan and I are already brainstorming how to manage next summer. Because we fell behind on inventory and as much hard work we put it, we never got ahead of it. In the grand scheme of things, selling out of product constantly is a dream for a small business but it also wrecked my nervous system feeling like we were always scrambling. Small business owners are always juggling a million things at once but I felt the whack-a-mole game I have been playing for years malfunctioned and kicked it into high speed.
The past couple weeks I also had to randomly shut down the shops to let my body rest after experiencing a flare up of my blood disorder after being in remission for years. (I blame the whack-a-mole). I’ve had a few days where I have gotten dressed and into the car to go to work, almost made it and had to make the call to turn around last minute to go home and rest. Words cannot express how frustrated and sad it makes me. But I’m feeling like I’m on the mend and we have a full team for shop coverage moving forward into Fall.
This is not me complaining. I am so thankful for our amazing customers and this summer. It has been the best ever for Wild Lettie. Hands down. I think this is more of an explanation of what we experienced this summer and how I plan on doing better in the future. Because I really hope we keep growing. Thank you for sticking around. Thank you for being stoked on what we do. Thank you for being so darn awesome.
