As a member of Professional Photographers of America, I'm eligible to participate in the organizations annual International Photographic Competition (IPC). Spanning 16 categories, the 2026 event received more than 2,000 entries from which a Grand Imaging Award (GIA) winner was determined in January of this year.

I'm excited to announce I recently submitted an entry for the IPC 2027 event which begins next month and culminates at Imaging USA on February 1st, 2027. And the category chosen for my entry ... 'Yearly Theme: Flowers'.

While becoming a GIA winner is the ultimate goal, I've set my ambitions a little lower with the hope of making it to the group of 32 for my chosen category. As you might expect, there are multiple rounds of judging whereby a winner is selected for each category and then those 16 images compete in head-to-head rounds until the GIA winner is announced.

On November 3rd of this year, the group of 32 for the Flowers category will be revealed and I'm hoping my entry is included in that group. What more is there for me to say other than, best of luck to my entry ... !!! Pretty In Pink !!!

I'm pleased to announce two new artworks will soon be released on my website artxus.com.

The first artwork titled 'Perspective' will be a new addition to the Desertscape gallery. It will be offered in a 22"H x 26"W framed presentation.

The second artwork titled 'Desertwave to Tranquility' will also be added to the Desertscape gallery although it will be offered in a 26"H x 22"W framed presentation. And for those who prefer an acrylic encapsulated presentation, you'll find 'Desertwave to Tranquility' in our Masterpiece gallery as a 40"H x 30"W artwork.

The debut of these artworks comes at an opportune time as one will be submitted to the 'Art Inspired by Nature' online Exhibition presented by Manhattan Arts International from September 15th through November 15th 2026. Be sure to check this space to see which artwork is accepted for entry along with Exhibition details.

As mentioned in my last post, engaging with my audience by promoting myself and the artwork I create will be the focus of my efforts beginning mid-year 2026. To that end, I'm pleased to announce an Art Review of my artwork portfolio will soon be available for all to read.

It is with great anticipation that I look forward to receiving the review currently being written by Renée Phillips ... Curator, Author, Writer, Promoter and current Director of Manhattan Arts International. As a long-time professional well established in the art community, her assessment of my portfolio will ideally provide validation of my efforts and accomplishments to date while simultaneously serving as motivation to continue my journey as a photographer / artist.

Welcome to the reboot of my Facebook photographer / art page!

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it has been three years since my last post. Shortly after making that post, I decided my time and efforts in the immediate future would be best spent expanding my artwork portfolio, developing the concept of a Masterpiece presentation and building out my website artxus.com.

I'm pleased to say as of mid-year 2026 all of those goals were achieved. So now the time has come to refocus my efforts on engaging with my audience by promoting myself and the artwork I create.

My sincere thanks to those who have followed me both online and quietly in the background.
