You guys, I'm just so proud of my boy. He'sbeen working hard lately so you'll find sketches, oil pastel drawings, colored pencil drawings and drawings with alcohol marker in the chickadee tent at bayfront park!

Putting the final touches on this beauty felt like a lesson in trusting the process. If there was ever a piece that challenged my mindset, it was this one.

After years of knotting, I’ve learned that I can be my own toughest critic. While I was making this piece, I honestly wasn’t loving it. The gaps, the leaves, the vine—every little detail seemed to bother me more than it should have. I kept looking at it and wondering if it was ever going to come together the way I pictured it.

But I kept going.

Then I hung it up, added the light, and flipped the switch.

And just like that, I saw it differently. All the parts I had been picking apart became part of what made it feel alive—soft, wild, and full of character. I absolutely fell in love.

Sometimes you just have to keep creating through the awkward middle, because the finished piece just might surprise you. ✨
